A book for all ages
Reviewed: 17-06-2018
Although I turned 40 last month, this book really spoke to me. It is not just for people starting out their journey in college. While it is easy to tell someone to never give up and use persistence as your fuel, the stories in this book really brought it home. It usually takes me a few weeks to get through a book in between running a company and raising a family. I finished this book in two days. I look forward to hearing and learning more from Alex.

Story
When you think of a Christian pastor, you probably don't envision a tattooed 30-something who wears a motorcycle jacket, listens to hip-hop music, references The Walking Dead and Black Lives Matter in his sermons, and every Sunday draws a standing-room only crowd to a venue normally used for rock concerts - in godless New York City, no less. But then you clearly have never met Carl Lentz. As head pastor of the first United States branch of global megachurch Hillsong, the former college basketball player is on a mission to make Christianity accessible in the 21st century.

Lentz covers every current life topic

While I admit I am a fan of Carl Lentz’s messages, I never thought this book would touch on so many current life topics we are dealing with on a daily basis. Carl’s passion for his beliefs are not watered down to please, but rather spoken clearly and without hesitation. A must listen!

Story
Crashing the chatterbox = Overpowering lies of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement with the promises of God. “I used to think that someone who struggled with the kinds of weaknesses I deal with daily was useless to God. I felt so often like I was drowning in internal dialogue I couldn’t control. It had been the soundtrack of my life for as long as I could remember.
