Story
Neuroscientist, philosopher, podcaster and best-selling author Sam Harris has been exploring some of the greatest questions concerning the human mind, society and the events that shape our world. Harris’ search for deeper understanding of how we think has led him to engage and exchange with some of our most brilliant and controversial contemporary minds - Daniel Kahneman, Robert Sapolsky, Anil Seth and Max Tegmark - in order to unpack and understand ideas of consciousness, free will, extremism and ethical living.

Gifted with meta-human powers, Tori Rivas kept away from the limelight, preferring to work as a thief in the shadows. I love the series but this whole book felt like it was one prompt after another and at the end nothing had happened except a ton of leveling, there seemed like there was no story progression other than the leveling.
Took a step, got stronger, took another, got stronger, realised the power was in him the whole time......got stronger.

this is a great series, well written and a good choice of narrator
I loved the first 5 books as damien is intelligent and by the end quite OP but put in increasingly difficult circumstances
book 6 takes a turn and tbh completely changes the dynamics no longer being a personal story but more of a group / multi character story line, I'm not saying book 6 isn't also good but its not why I enjoyed the story to begin with

Too damn polite
Reviewed: 02-04-2020
wrongfully imprisoned and on the up and up, I love the story although I feel like it's all a bit too easy for Mayan, it seems like he gets opportunities the literally no one else could ever hope for even if they repeated the same actions
the writing is a little clunky and far too polite which makes it feel like a children's story and tbh disconnects it from reality even worse than the scifi fantasy aspects, I could honestly believe the VR immersion before I could believe that the characters were all so gentlemanly even when in conflict
my biggest peave with the book is the narrator, it might be a combination of the writing style but like I said it all just felt too polite, like I was being read a bed time story
Dont get me wrong I enjoyed this book but it was despite the writing style and narration bot because of it.
