Story
Matt Rife is well aware that he’s both the most loved and the most controversial comic in America today. And honestly, he thinks that’s your problem. In his very first book, Matt reveals without apology everything that led him to becoming comedy’s biggest lightning rod before he reached thirty, in a story full of bold and hysterical takes on everything from Justin Bieber tramp stamps and rap battles with ex-cons to Matt’s battles with depression and his many brushes with failure before finally hitting it big.

I have read the whole series on Kindle and now I'm re-visiting it on Audible. I just wish they had done the whole series instead of missing some of the books out. I really wanted to go straight to book 2 after finishing book three.
This series should be made into a streaming show, it could easily be the next big thing!

Story
A bipolar gangster, a naive young film director, and Batman. What could go wrong? Alex Ferrari is a first-time film director who just got hired to direct a $20 million feature film, the only problem is the film is about Jimmy, an egomaniacal gangster who wants the film to be about his life in the mob. Would you sell your soul to the devil to make your dream come true? By the way, did we mention that this story is based on true events?, no, seriously it is.

Time to make that movie
Reviewed: 11-12-2023
I really enjoyed this book. After listening to Alex's other podcast, Next Level Soul, and hearing that he had an unusual story from his youth to share, I was delighted to find this audio presentation of that story.
I only just watched Molly's Game on DVD last week and this story reminds me a lot of that Movie and story.
An opportunity for a behind the scenes look at what goes on in Hollywood and the movie making process with great cameo spots to guess at. Along with a moving personal journey of self discovery.
The link and parallels between the Mob and Hollywood lives on and knowing this is a true story really adds to the interest.
I think the way Alex infuses his understanding of his journey, and what he has now learnt about how the universe works is lovely.
I'm sure he has even more to add now, after a few more years working in the spiritual community and with even more perspective looking back on this time.
Overall, a great listen/read and I hope this does get picked up for a Movie one day, even if Jimmy's never did!

Story
Having entertained the idea for years, and even offered a few questionable opportunities, I have decided to tell these stories just as I have always done, in my own voice. The joy that I have felt from chronicling these tales is not unlike listening back to a song that I’ve recorded and can’t wait to share with the world, or reading a primitive journal entry from a stained notebook, or even hearing my voice bounce between the Kiss posters on my wall as a child.

I cannot more highly recommend this book to anyone. It has something in it for everyone, and I am now a life long Dave Grohl fan, not just because of the the music but because of the man.
