Was kind of boring
Reviewed: 01-11-2024
The alien aspect doesn't get explored. The super powers don't really do much. Just a trope filled action book repeating the same scenario over and over. Boring.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Story
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Just getting into it and it ends

This is too short for the price and has put me off continuing the series. Seems like a great story, but it goes no where, nothing is explained very little happens apart from character development and then... the end. Buy the next book.

The disjointed story telling is really ruins this
Reviewed: 20-10-2019
If you're not paying 100% attention it hard to know when the story shifts from one character to another. Ruins the book for me.

Story
Stephen King's epic fantasy series, The Dark Tower, is being made into a major movie starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Due in cinemas February 17, 2017 USA. In this first novel in his epic fantasy masterpiece, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most enigmatic heroes, Roland of Gilead, the Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner, on a spellbinding journey into good and evil, in a desolate world which frighteningly echoes our own.

After all the hype I was let down. Not the story I was expecting. Maybe all the books together, but this entire book just feels like chapter 1.
