Story
Soon to be a major TV series starring Kenneth Branagh. On 21 June 1922, Count Alexander Rostov - recipient of the Order of Saint Andrew, member of the Jockey Club, Master of the Hunt - is escorted out of the Kremlin, across Red Square and through the elegant revolving doors of the Hotel Metropol. Deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, the Count has been sentenced to house arrest indefinitely. But instead of his usual suite, he must now live in an attic room while Russia undergoes decades of tumultuous upheaval. Can a life without luxury be the richest of all?

I loved this book, it was truly wonderful! Historically interesting, poignant, humbling and humorous.
The narrator was first rate and with his introduction to each member of the cast, it was easy to feel like you knew each one personally.
You cannot help but fall in love with the eccentric, witty and charming main character, Count Alexander.
So many emotions! I really didn’t want it to end I know that I will be listening to this story again.
Make yourself a cuppa, grab a coffee or pour yourself a glass of wine. Then like a cat on a cold day, get comfy, press play and lose yourself at the Hotel Metropol!

Story
A tough special agent with the Department of Justice and a dedicated single mother to her orphaned nephews, Samantha Chase is unbreakable. Until two women, both from the shadows of Sam's past, are discovered strangled. For Sam, the most unnerving detail is the eucalyptus branch tucked behind the victims' ears - the signature of a notorious serial murderer already convicted and executed for his crimes.

Cheesier than a block of tasty cheddar, but I had to listen to the end! The characters, the narrator, the spicy scenes all conspired to make this annoyingly interesting. The storyline was good but for some reason it didn’t work overall for me. I’ve enjoyed some of her other books much better. 馃惥
