Beautifully performed and produced, but far too much racial politics.

This is one of the best-performed and produced podcasts I’ve ever heard. The presenter is highly charismatic and infectious in his enthusiasm for Stevie Wonder and his music. The guests were great as well - Barack Obama, what a score!

However the script was extremely repetitive on black racial politics to the point of being incessant. Sure, the political environment around Stevie deserved a mention and some discussion, but their black armband presentation of this history was far too intense for a music show.

This is a fantastic book if you’re looking to improve your lot in life. I could almost feel my growing more “emotionally mature” as I listened, and was surprised that the simplest of changes could have such a big effect. Highly recommended.

This book is a must-read for any aspiring screen writers. It sets out, in unambiguous terms, what is important to real industry professionals, and what is unnecessary frippery.

Guyot fearlessly rips into the hangers-on in the industry who are there just to take money from writers with stars in their eyes.

If you read or listen to this book and decide that a career in screenwriting is too hard, that’s probably a good thing; Guyot might have saved you many years of heartache. However you will hopefully find it as inspirational as I did, and cause you to redouble your efforts to be the best writer you can be.

Any maybe, just maybe, one day someone will produce your screenplay.

This story inspired me so much that I went to see the “castle”, which is in Barcelona, Spain - and I live in Australia!

It chronicles the efforts of four relatives to restore an old 15th century mansion, which otherwise would have rotted away. You can helped be impressed by not only their craziness to even attempt such a project, but their resilience and determination to continue when things inevitably went wrong.

It is warmly told, well read, and in general a book that I found very inspiring.

Brian Johnson comes across as a very likeable person. I’m particularly impressed that he did the narration himself, which gives the whole story more authenticity. Every nuance of the tale is depicted how it should be. I’m an AC/DC fan, but this would be a good listen even if you weren’t.

This story was at once very warm and heartfelt, while also being very frivolous and funny. A rare combination.
