dare I say, better than ACOTAR...

I'm reading ACOTAR at the same time as these and this series wins hands down. I'm so invested in this story and the world Calista and Talon live in.

The world building is awesome and each book introduces more fantasy world creatures. The battles are epic without dragging on forever and we haven't even fought using the dragons yet!

This book gives us more of Talon's fascinating and heartbreaking backstory. Talk about rip your heart out! I was devastated for him. But it also sees a turn in the two MC's journey. Friend and foe, enemies and lovers. It's a spicy journey that will surely please the fans and melt their hearts. I thoroughly recommend it.

4 1/2 stars. Such a sweet Christmas read. For a novella, this was well fleshed out and gave lovely, warm holiday vibes.

The main characters were both sweethearts and surprisingly there was no stupid misinterpretation of words said etc. that sends everything into a dramatic whirlwind. It was just a meet cute, helping each other and getting to know one another. Add a cute dog into the mix and some seasonal baking and it becomes a delightful read. Definitely recommended.

Another wonderful Christmas story set in the town of Tinsel (last year I read How to Lose a Guy Before Christmas) with likeable characters and a realistic storyline.

There's plenty of humour sprinkled throughout and a drop of spiciness. The secrets they all had were fun to learn, and weren't over the top dramatic like some books can be. I love the narrators (Teddy Hamilton always gives a great performance), with both of them nailing the one linersl
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This has been on my TBR list for AGES and unfortunately, I was a tad disappointed in this book. It just dragged on and was quite repetitive.

There's nothing particularly endearing about the main character apart from the fact that she's lost her husband, so you feel sad for her. Other than that, not much else appeals. It's sweet that her dying husband had the forethought to set up monthly letters for her first year to get her through - that was sweet - but even those weren't particularly swoon worthy or heartfelt. They were more instructional.

The supporting cast of family and friends were good but there weren't any standouts to me. It was just...a nice book. It is cool that Cecilia Ahern was only 21 when she wrote it though.

I really wanted to love this book from all the hype surrounding it but I just didn't. It was just ok. In fact, it dragged on for the first two-thirds before gaining traction and finishing on a high.

The two main characters, Feyre and Tamlin, are just meh. They hold no appeal to me at this point. I actually felt his friend, Lucien, had more of a character build up. And I'm assuming there'll be a love triangle with Rhysand in the next instalment? There's definitely something with him - he has that bad boy thing going on.

I will definitely continue on with the series though, with so many people loving it, it has to get better.🤞

What an absolute gem of a book. A wonderful Aussie yarn about being yourself, believing in yourself and dreaming big.

It is chock full of wonderful characters, and snippets of the Aussie lifestyle in a rural setting. Farming can be tough but it also makes you resilient. Adapt or die, and it's always good to have family and mates. There's plenty of those in this book which brings about lots of heartwarming moments and life lessons.

I loved everything about

I loved everything about this book and was thoroughly entertained the whole way through. Although it's aimed at young adults, I think it would be loved by anyone at any age.

Short and sweet romance set on Lord Howe Island

A short and sweet romance that was more of a tourism story for Lord Howe Island than the actual romance. Whilst I love books that feature and showcase our amazing Aussie lifestyle, this one was just too focused on the island, the conservation and local fauna insights.

The storyline was as thin as the depth of the characters. The MM, Griffin, was lovely but the MF character, Bo, walked around with her head in the sand for most of the book. And their tv show host, Kip, was just a knob. I listened to this on audio and Griffin (narrated by David Berry) was absolutely delicious. His deep British voice reminded me of Theo James 🤤. The rest of the voices were ok but sometimes a little OTT.

This seems to be a book you either love or hate. I loved it. I read it because the movie is coming out and I'm so glad I did. I didn't want to put it down so that's when I know it's good.

Domestic violence is a tough topic to tackle. This book reminds of the movie Once Were Warriors, only for the fact that it shows how someone can be abusive and horrible part of the time but the remainder they can be perfect/loving/funny. That's why women often stay for so long, the good times are more than the bad times. But eventually, the bad times become too frequent, too much or too soul crushing. It chips away at their love and the bad outweighs the good.

My only negative was the writing to Ellen DeGeneres chapters. I liked the diary entries but not the Ellen part. It'll be interesting to see if they use that in the movie.

I love the author's note at the end that explains her relationship with her father. It puts the book into perspective and lends more credence to it.

The latest installment in the Dark Olympus series is centred around a polyamorous relationship between Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Adonis and Pandora. It's not all hearts and roses to begin with - Aphrodite and Hephaestus hate each other but marry to help the city. So begins the vengeful tactics, the barbed remarks and the hot, hot sex that brings them all together and unites them in the fight against those who are trying to bring Olympus down.
I loved all of the characters, loved their journey and love the idea of the polyamorous relationship (although I have SO many questions now!).
The narrators did a awesome job as always.

Overall I liked this book but it was probably the weakest in terms of the Hero (Apollo) and the romance. It felt more about setting up the storyline for bigger things to come rather than a book dedicated to just Apollo and Cassandra.

Although I liked Apollo, he didn't have the grittiness of the others. Cassandra was a strong character and it was interesting to see her take on Olympus as she's not part of the Thirteen or in the 'right' family. I do like them together and I think they'll make a formidable team throughout the series.

I enjoyed the locked room mystery style party and it got a little dark with attempted/murders happening and an ending that surprised me. It has certainly set the stage for some powerful and unsettling times ahead in Olympus.
