All just in time for the French Revolution. He also gets to hang out at the Bastille and scores some up close and personal time with Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Natasha, meanwhile, has her feet on the ground with the framers of the revolutionary constitution and makes her own unique contribution to the Reign of Terror.

Was it really too much trouble to label the episodes in each of the 4 series? Good clean recording though.

I guess he exorcised this from his system. I couldn't believe his voiceover on the revised Jeff Wayne's war of the worlds. I guess he was the quieter one with Rik who I felt stayed more his persona even though he got older and maybe that's what got the better of him in the end like a mid life crisis. It seems Adrian is saying the same sort of thing as Echart Tolle about accepting what is and stoicicm taking responsibility of confronting what is and dealing with the pros and cons of each decision which he mentioned are his main themes in his 2 books he wrote for more for kids. I agree that the series bottom was one of the funniest things ever on TV as it was wallowing in the sad pathetic existence of life, a bit like Tony Hancock but with more aggression. He also said his brother was funnier than him but the sucess is more about how to put it across to reach other people's reality rather than just raw talent that isn't nurtured but wasted on other things like being a dress maker etc. Interesting honest audio.

In this classic TV soundtrack, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie explore a seemingly inexhaustible list of subjects with a delicious turn of phrase and elaborate wordplay. The hilarity includes regular acts such as not so super spy Tony Mercheson and his boss Control, yuppies, John and Peter and the critics. With four brilliant series of great satire, comic genius and hilarious use of language, the show cemented Fry & Laurie as a double act and paved the way for their future stardom.

Pity it's spoiled by mislabeling the skits! 23 Jan 92 title 'we haven't met... Names',
If that title sounds confusing it is. Who on earth was your typist. Names is a seperate comedy piece following so after that point all the labels are wrong. Then later you did another syntax error then it was 2 names behind, then a third. Can you reload this with the correct titles for the second half of these series. Am I the first to mention this.. Probably.. does anyone read things anymore?

Got to give this 3 stars it wasn't great but some parts were interesting and informative but it did sound monotonous with the pitch as a low 3 out of 4. Just looking at the manipulation and deception of other reviewers, all out of australia, not one of them have less than the full 5 stars. Suspicious much? Yes. I also thought the narrator couid have been one of those monotonous electronic male Sam voices.

When H. G. Wells first published The War of The Worlds in 1898, the novel quickly became a sci-fi classic. The story of extraterrestrials from Mars invading Earth captured the public’s imagination, inspiring a famed 1938 radio broadcast with Orson Welles, several feature films, countless video games, and a best-selling musical concept album by Jeff Wayne in 1978, among others.

If I didn't know it was Ade Edmondson I wouldn't know it. He has come far since playing Vivian and Edward Hitler. I could still tell it was Michael Sheen though. Both these actors were great as were the others. I felt sad that thunderchild crescendo music was omitted after the lady had given her sad speech that the thunderchild ship had vanished in vain from the Martian death Ray. However I loved the extended music plays from the original version and it still kept the original 70s hippy folk song feel about it. In fact alot of the musical embellishments were enhanced.
Who would have thought covid was the cure for Martians. Finally a rose rises amongst life thorns. Funny how these lockdowns provide a desolate landscape similar to Martians taking over the world. I can walk around desolate streets with empty shops like omega man envisioning red weed all over kmart on top of their red spot special logos. Of course we are all going underground in the tunnels of our own insecurities and uncertainties with lockdown. We escape the horrors of this sabotaged beautiful scifi appocolyse into one more devastating of unnessesary economic collapse without the feeling that we accomplished defeat of the invading Aliens. Still this beautiful musical has made lockdown more bearable. Thankyou audible.

A childless couple takes in a mysterious, neglected young boy who emerges from the woods and into their garden one afternoon. Although they bring him step-by-step into their home and into their lives, they find that they know no more about him. This is a story both tender and disquieting about responsibility, boundaries and love.

The British people found it dull and sadly I agree with them. Many of these stories are on family issues which aussies love most whether because we are lacking as much culture and other things to do besides look at rugby. I get bored with many Australia movies and books always about family issues or indigenous issues that's rammed duwn our throats all the time. I've noticed Australian theatre post covid is riddled with female, indugionius or family issues That's now 90 percent of the content. What happened to the interesting thrillers or scarry tales and twists that adventurous male single minds enjoy as well as others but now this market is ignored in every dept. It was read well and is good as a bedtime story to fall asleep to. The only thing I was worried about was cannibalism at the end when he was eating her foot. But maybe they were moving and twisting in lust like some oral foreplay with the wife's foot. Gross either way but that put the score points up because it was a weird ending of a banal story.
