Story
Emily Ratajkowski is an acclaimed model and actress, an engaged political progressive, a formidable entrepreneur, a global social media phenomenon and, now, a writer. Rocketing to world fame at age 21, Ratajkowski sparked both praise and furor with the provocative display of her body as an unapologetic statement of feminist empowerment. My Body is a profoundly personal exploration of feminism, sexuality and power, of men's treatment of women and women's rationalizations for accepting that treatment.

I have some mixed feelings regarding this book, while I understand how hard it must be for Emily however, the industry that is all about people's body and sexuality. Trying to make an industry built on objectication of women's bodies - it seems rather naive to think that modelling anything other than sexist.
Performance and read well by Emily, if this modelling thing does work she definitely go into voice work lol

She was known to the world as Emily Doe when she stunned millions with a letter. Brock Turner had been sentenced to just six months in county jail after he was found sexually assaulting her on Stanford's campus. Her victim impact statement was posted on Buzzfeed, where it instantly went viral - viewed by 11 million people within four days, it was translated globally and read on the floor of Congress; it inspired changes in California law and the recall of the judge in the case.

Story
For too long, women have been told that we are terrible at being friends, that we can't help being cruel or competitive, or that we inevitably abandon each other for romantic partners. But we are rejecting those stereotypes and reclaiming the power of female friendship. In Text Me When You Get Home, journalist Kayleen Schaefer interviews more than 100 women about their BFFs, soul mates, girl gangs, and queens while tracing this cultural shift through the lens of pop culture.

At least it uplifting
Reviewed: 10-03-2021
Well written and full of stories of experiences, Schaerer does a good job of being so pro-female relationship it was hard to critique. That being said, I think there was not a enough discussion about women who don't have many female friends. I wished she did more research on other's experiences rather than talking to people she knows or people from within her circle.

There were some interesting topics and viewpoints that were discussed in the book. Although I don't agree with everything I think Mooro has expressed her experience in open and non-judgmental way. Definitely worth checking out.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

People have been raving and ranting about this book for months and years. And quite frankly as self-help books go it isn't great. The author comes off arrogant and self-righteous. With obvious observations, I question whether there was real self-reflection g in his "journey" or is this another way to make money. Also it is easy to bounce back when you're white upper-middle class, university educated male.

The police are convinced it is an attempted murder-suicide. But Sophia is sure that the woman who brought her up isn't a killer....

The compelling, inspiring (often comic) coming-of-age story of Trevor Noah, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. One of the comedy world's brightest new voices, Trevor Noah is a light-footed but sharp-minded observer of the absurdities of politics, race and identity, sharing jokes and insights drawn from the wealth of experience acquired in his relatively young life.

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent, and while they sleep they go to another place....

The Southern accent was really annoying - maybe because I'm not use to it.
