Elizabeth Evans... Absolutely wonderful performance, as always!
This is one of the best books SJM has written. Her writing is on another level.
I will admit that listening to this book vs reading it made it a little hard to follow at first because there is so much terminology to learn. But I will be listening to it again soon to appreciate it fully.
The storyline did have some parallels to her other books, but in a delightful way. I really think she has learned from her fans what characters they like and has developed accordingly. The twists and turns of this book were EPIC. It always amazes me just how much she fits into one book and I am so grateful that she writes such long books. In summary, I CANNOT wait for the next book!

Great book, terrible narrator!

I am a huge fan of Sarah J Maas and read this series on my kindle 2 years ago. I recently started a job that requires a lot of driving and decided to try audiobooks. I just finished listening to the Throne of Glass Series narrated by Elizabeth Evans, which is 10/10.
I purchased this book and from the first chapter I was so incredibly disappointed with the narration. I made it to chapter 15 before I switched to my kindle to finish the book. The narrators voice is so monotone and robotic. It is a bit easier to get through in the beginning, but once Tamlin and Lucien are more present, it is very hard to differentiate between their “voices”. I also found it hard to know when the characters were speaking at all, as there was no clear difference in the narrators voice. Lastly, the long pauses between sentences left me feeling like I was wasting my time. I feel like there would be at least 30 minutes of lengthy and unnecessary pauses throughout the whole book if it was all added up.
I absolutely love this series, but I am so disappointed that I spent money on this audible version. I will be steering clear of this narrator.
I am not one to normally post negative reviews, but I just wanted to warn other listeners in my position.
