Story
I have a soul-destroying corporate job, I iron my underpants, and I was unceremoniously dumped for an influencer hippie a few years ago. Every day feels the same, and I don't know how much longer I can cope before I do something unhinged like rip off my shirt in the middle of my co-worker's office birthday party and smear lemon cake all over my chest. Then, a case of mistaken identity suddenly lands me in the middle of a covert professional wrestling league, which is apparently being run in the basement of my office building. Weird. Even weirder are the wrestlers.

This is a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It’s interesting, quirky, funny, super spicy and beautifully sweet.
There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t want to give any spoilers.
Basically, if the idea of the two guys on the cover getting all hot and steamy works for you, and you enjoy a sweet, supportive, mischievous romance with a HEA, then I’m confident you’ll enjoy this one.
Michaels’ narration was on point, as usual. He has this wonderful way of bringing the characters to life, with unique and diverse voices, that he injects with such believable expressions and emotion.
I want more! More! More!

Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe. One terrible morning, Jude and her sisters see their parents murdered in front of them. The terrifying assassin abducts all three girls to the world of Faerie, where Jude is installed in the royal court but mocked and tormented by the Faerie royalty for being mortal.

I didn’t expect this story to be so gripping. I also didn’t expect to be finishing it at 3 am the very next morning after I started listening to it! Whoops! 😅
The MC was not a conventional heroin, so that was refreshing. And the were a lovely amount of plot twists as the story progressed.
Great intrigue. And one part had me nearly shedding a tear.
The narrator was easy to listen to, though the characters voices weren’t very varied.
All in all, I really enjoined this story, even though there was no smut. Great job Miss Author.

The story can be described as a necessary bridge between the action.
I’m glad I read the reviews before listening to this story, as I was prepared for the retelling of the first story from Cass’s perspective and pleasantly surprised by the other stuff that happened. With his retelling came plenty of additional information that flashed out the original story nicely. There was also more than just the retelling though, a handful of other things also occurred that helped progress the story, laying a nice foundation for the story to come.
There were a few moments when I felt that the retelling could have been better better summarised. Plus a few moments where Cass’s repetitive self loathing and struggle to resolve his feelings surrounding his plans had me rolling my eyes.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I’m also cussing the cliff hanger and now am eagerly awaiting the next book.

Erotica with plot potential
Reviewed: 29-05-2024
The plot and characters have potential, I’m curious to see where the story goes. I’m also looking forward to the character development. Especially Apollo.
There are plenty of fun moments and a few that had my chest constricting with emotion.
However, there is a lot of sex in this book. Possibly too much, some of which felt inappropriate for the situation. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no prude, I love a good story full of detailed, hot and steamy scenes. (I even have a few of my favourite filthy scenes from various stories book marked for revisiting) But I do prefer them to be more drawn out then in this story. Not so… wham bam.
The narrator does do a fantastic job of pushing intensity into these sexy encounters though. I had a few moments when I was out in public and had to turn off the book due to a deep blush and feeling like I was personally engaging in a dirty act of public indecency.
Over all I enjoyed the story. But it didn’t make it into my top 50. I probably won’t reread.

It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders 17 capacity for pain beyond endurance. The male narrator, Teddy. Nope. Just… no. Sorry man, but I felt this roll just wasn’t suited to you.
IMO he’s voice doesn’t compliment the character’s or the vibe that Rebecca has done a fantastic job of building.
The story however is fantastic. The character relationships and their evolution are moving.
And there’s this one part where Violence is in a really emotionally fragile place and this unexpected character shows up… oh my gosh, my chest went tight, tears fell in torrents and I actually sobbed.
And there’s this other chapter with a seat and tongue. Hnng 🫦😈🫣 It’s this kind or writing that makes great RL sex seem… meh.

These are engaging and intense stories which set a great pace that’s full of action. Wonderful character building with believable emotional connections.
These stories have lots of beautifully heart warming moments, but there is also plenty of struggle, some of which is very dark and could be challenging for some to work through.
I smiled a lot, I laughed some, I felt sad and I was choked up at times.
I wish I had a Fritz of my own. And a Danial.

Marius Valstar doesn’t know which is worse: the dead body in his greenhouse or the naked fae prince on his desk. The only rakes of interest to Marius are garden tools, not fae princes. Certainly not the arrogant, selfish fae prince he has the misfortune to have a history with. But when Prince Rakken turns up naked and bleeding in Marius’s college the same day a body appears in his greenhouse, scruples must take second place to solving a murder that could unravel the delicate balance between humans and fae.

An epic adventure, a story line with tremendous potential, but with one of the lead characters who sets my teeth to grinding with his relentless lack of self confidence. As he continues to make the same mistakes again and again, I find myself wanting to grab him by the scruff to shake the idiot out of him. At least I can’t accuse the author of character inconsistencies, as all the characters are consistent to a fault.
Still, overall, I really enjoyed the series and devoured it in just a few days.
Mr Perkins did a marvellous job with his narration.

Great, providing you’re an established fan of the previous two trilogy’s.

I really enjoyed this story. However, I believe my level of enjoyment is due to having listened to the previous two trilogies, “The Ancient Future” and “The Celestial Triad”, which set the groundwork and understanding so that I could read between the lines. I can imagine that anyone who reads or listens to this book without the previous trilogies under their belt would perceive this story as disjointed and confusing.
As far as the narrator goes, she was jarring at the beginning, but I relaxed into her voice and style as the story progressed. There was only one character voice that irked me throughout the story, but she wasn’t one of the main characters. Other than that her performance was pretty good. Just different.
Over all, this story is for established fans.

Fantastic narration compliments and elevates an already well written story.
Characters that I love from previous stories continue to develop while remaining true to their core traits, and new characters are introduced that have just as much individuality and personality as the old favourites.
The story line has the same light hearted humour with in underlining depth that tackles societal issues in a cheeky yet heart felt way that all disc world novels tend too.
