As usual Lynne doesn’t disappoint. She weaves two separate stories into one to create a heartfelt honest piece of writing.

It was not my first choice for a Lynne Austin novel. It wasn’t as engaging and gripping as her other novels but still a nice story. It reveals the hardships of the American civil war that divided a nation and the realisation that much still remains true today.

Added to my favourites. Full of adventures and juxtaposition of two worlds. The writer has a special talent to draw you in so that you want to keep reading. This novel was quite funny and I enjoyed chuckling along with the protagonist as she navigated her life. Miss Lily was enchanting. Listen to it.

This is my second book I’ve listened to from this author. Love how she draws me into the rich stories full of expression and Christian love. She doesn’t shy away from Christ but rather provides a new insight told through the women’s real life believable stories. This would be in my top 5 and I’m hungry to listen to more.
This story tells the early women’s movement and shows God’s hand in how he brought women’s purposes to the forefront. It also shows how men behave, good & bad. It’s a beautiful story.
