Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

A good family yarn

I enjoyed this. Lots of twists and turns and although the language can be coarse it’s a realistic representation of a family dealing with trauma and mental illness.

I love this series of books. Vince is the quintessential NY cop and the vain entitled characters are very entertaining and wicked. I also love that it’s so long. Lasted a few days while I was sick in bed.

Stephanie Plum, Trenton's most underappreciated bounty hunter, is on the trail of a stolen cache of dirty diamonds. Stephanie's new assignment seems simple enough. Good story but….
Reviewed: 08-12-2023
I enjoyed the story but the writing isn’t as good as most of her books. I think I counted about 4000 “she said” just a bit lazy on the dialogue writing (in my humble opinion) I still enjoyed it but I think it’s a bit more obvious when the story is read to you than when you read it yourself.
But the story line was still good.

Mak is a great character. Lots of action. My only complaint is I wish narrator would check how to pronounce place names. Hearing Canberra mispronounced over and over was a tad annoying. It’s so easy to check these things. Apart from that I’m smitten.
