The puppy was brought to replace our farm's guard dog, herding dog, and longtime cherished pet. Living in upstate New York, rottweilers had a bad reputation, and most people viewed them as fighting dogs or vicious guard dogs for car dealerships and junkyards, which was my Grandfather's opinion. He was worried for us three children he was raising.

The aim of this book is to introduce listeners to birds through entertainment and education. Having fun with birds in these 12 humorous, catchy, and "crazy" short stories will hopefully cement an impression in the mind of each child that will remain with them as they develop and grow. I have observed that books for small children is most important and that it can sow a seed for the future.

The Rottweiler puppy was a gift offered to my Grandfather to replace his long-time farm dog who had died. All farms need a herding dog, a guard dog, and a loving pet, and it is rare to have all these qualities in one dog which made the loss of his dog personally tragic and devastating to the function of the farm business he owned. In upstate New York back in the 1960's, owning a Rottweiler as a pet was unheard of because of their horrible reputation of being vicious and dangerous and only good for junkyard guard dogs.
