Story
Seven hard-won months into her sobriety, sociology professor Maris Heilman has her first blackout. She chalks it up to exhaustion, though she fears that her husband and daughter will suspect she’s drinking again. Whatever their cause, the glitches start becoming more frequent. Sometimes minutes, sometimes longer, but always leaving Maris with the same disorienting question: Where have I been?

A great concept let down by a rushed ending
Reviewed: 10-12-24
I jumped between reading this on the kindle and listening to it, and for the most part, was enjoying it, the story has some great concepts. But its ending is kind of anti-climactic and is basically "confront bad guy, beat him up enough to kill him" and just left a sour note on an otherwise good story.
Performance is good, until the end, where honestly, it felt like the narrators heart wasn't in it, though that might just be the bad writing, "x did this, y said this, x felt this, z moved to here"

Story
For centuries, the vineyards at Château Renard have depended on the talent of their vine witches, whose spells help create the world-renowned wine of the Chanceaux Valley. Then the skill of divining harvests fell into ruin when sorcière Elena Boureanu was blindsided by a curse. Now, after breaking the spell that confined her to the shallows of a marshland and weakened her magic, Elena is struggling to return to her former life. And the vineyard she was destined to inherit is now in the possession of a handsome stranger.

Kind of anti-climatic

It's an ok story, with decent characters that I vaguely cared about, and its easy to follow, The big reveal is somewhat signposted and felt a little underwhelming, and the ending seems to drag on well past when it should.

Story
As a park ranger with the National Park Service's law enforcement team, Andrea Lankford led search and rescue missions in some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) landscapes across America, from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon. But though she had the support of the agency, Andrea grew frustrated with the service's bureaucratic idiosyncrasies, and left the force after twelve years. Two decades later, however, she stumbles across a mystery that pulls her right back where she left off: three young men have vanished from the Pacific Crest Trail.

Not a criticism of the narrator, who did a fine job! The story bounces around 3 different locations / missing hikers, with similar circumstances, and multiple of the same people involved in the searches, and it just becomes incoherent and difficult to follow.
