Story
In 1985, Charles Ng and Leonard Lake were spotted shoplifting. Ng escaped, but Lake's capture led police to a concrete bunker in the Sierra Nevada foothills, where they discovered the grisly evidence of an orgy of sex crimes, torture, and murder that claimed at least 16 victims. Lake committed suicide: Ng fled to Canada, where he was tracked down and extradited to California. This 14-year, $10 million legal case was the costliest and longest criminal prosecution in California history.

Just wayward in narrative and execution. There are lots of extremist groups mentioned and the tethering of mental health/disorders.

Story
On October 23, 1989, affluent businessman Charles Stuart made a frantic 911 call from his car to report that he and his seven-months-pregnant wife, Carol, a lawyer, had been robbed and shot by a Black male in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston. By the time police arrived, Carol was dead, and the baby was soon lost as well. The attack incited a furor during a time of heightened racial tension in the community. Even more appalling, while the injuries were real, Stuart’s story was a hoax: He was the true killer.

I have read a lot of true crime and listen constantly to new publications but am always seeking older books that have now finally surfaced with audio.
I loved this book. Succinct yet fills the imagination. Great narrator too.
Thanks for releasing this one!

Story
Levi Bellfield is one of the most notorious British serial killers of the last fifty years - his name alone evokes horror and revulsion, after his string of brutal murders in the early 2000s. At 3:07pm on 21st March, 2002, Milly Dowler left her school in Surrey for the last time. Less than an hour later, she was to be abducted and murdered in the cruellest fashion, sparking a missing person investigation that would span months before her body was found.

A bland self serving book
Reviewed: 08-03-19
I was interested to know more about the criminal process that lead to the conviction and detailed work up towards Bellfield's arrest.
This was touched on but it was so tiresome.
This is a book about the author and not about criminology and the victims.
A very bland book

Hmmm
It didn't flow well for me. It reads like a long piece of journalism but sadly never sits well.
I wish they would release I: the creation of a serial killer.
