Story
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life in the New Forest. He does the odd bit of investigation work, but he likes his familiar habits and routines. His days of adventure are over: adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s business now. Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul: she doesn’t stay still long enough for a habit or routine. She’s currently on a private island keeping world-famous author Rosie D’Antonio alive. Which was meant to be an easy job. Then a dead body, a bag of money, and a killer with their sights on Amy mean an end to Steve’s quiet life.

A Whimsical Whodunit with Charming Characters
Reviewed: 07-07-24
The Thursday Murder Club is an engaging mystery novel set in a peaceful retirement village where four elderly friends, with a penchant for solving cold cases, find themselves embroiled in a real-life murder investigation. The book shines with its witty dialogue and endearing characters, especially the quirky members of the club, who each bring a unique flavor to the story.
However, the novel’s pacing can be uneven at times, with certain parts dragging on, which may test the patience of some readers. Additionally, the plot, while entertaining, occasionally feels convoluted with multiple subplots vying for attention.
Overall, The Thursday Murder Club is a delightful read for those who enjoy cozy mysteries with a touch of humor, even if it falls short of being a page-turner. It’s a solid debut that promises more fun adventures with this lovable sleuthing quartet.

This was not the first book by this author which I have purchased, So I was disappointed when I gave up. Why? The Story fails to progress at all. The Narration from the cast is the only plus to this poor story.

Loved the performance from Ray. I really enjoy James Reece. While I have enjoyed the series of novels and was waiting for this one for a while. I felt like something was missing when it got to the end, I am sorry to say that I am not sure what. Maybe my expectations were a little too high.
I hope you enjoy

Story
Tess Morgan has finally made her dream of restoring beautiful Kilfenora House and Gardens into a reality. But during rehearsals for the play that forms the opening weekend's flagship event, her dream turns into a nightmare as those around her begin to fall victim to terrible accidents. Could someone be closing in on Tess herself? Clarissa Westmacott, ex star of stage and screen, certainly believes so, particularly when she learns that purple-flowered aconite has been picked from the Poison Garden.

Story
Summer, 2021. Nell has come home at her family's insistence to celebrate an anniversary. Fifty years ago, her father wrote The Golden Bones. Part picture book, part treasure hunt, Sir Frank Churcher created a fairy story about Elinore, a murdered woman whose skeleton was scattered all over England. Clues and puzzles in the pages of The Golden Bones led readers to seven sites where jewels were buried—gold and precious stones, each a different part of a skeleton. One by one, the tiny golden bones were dug up until only Elinore's pelvis remained hidden.

Story
You're on your honeymoon at an exclusive couples-only resort. You receive a note warning you to 'beware of the couple at the table nearest to yours'. At dinner that night, five other couples are present and none of their tables is any nearer or further away than any of the others. It's as if someone has set the scene in order to make the warning note meaningless - but why would anyone do that? You have no idea. You also don't know that you're about to be murdered.
