...and expertly narrated by Scot Brick. I know the screenplay, as I've watched it over 15 times throughout my adulthood and this book plus the narration has renewed my fascination for the story. My only bug-bear is the Audio app and the ease at which one can loose the full review from anything outside the app.
This really stops me leaving reviews. I have done so dilligently but I don't bother any more as it can take a lot of my time to complete a review. I'll keep checking to see if it has improved but until it have, I'm staying clear of reviewing.

It's time travel but not as we know it, Jim

A little difficult to keep pace with, even though I would listen every day until complete. The episodes read well but seeing their relationship to one another, in the early stages, was harder.
I'm sure the bits about the Black Death were accurate, but it appears to have only been used to set out the scale of time travel and when things happened in relation to each other, which is fine, but it seemed too big an anchor to use.
The narrator's voice sounded angry throughout and lacked identity with the characters.
Perceivere and you should enjoy.
...and how Dunworthy didn't slap Colin...

Alex is a media professional, who knows personality types, but is still pulled into something that is a bit unbelievable. But allowing that, and accepting that some people like this do exist, I had to finish it.
It's been made into a Netflix's production, so the industry believe its good.
The performance is what makes this production worth it. After you finish the book, go back to the begining and replay the preface.

It passed the time without being too tedious. A reasonable read. Not the best but not the worst.

A beautiful story by Laline Paul, wonderfully told Orlagh Cassidy, of a medieval quest for a new queendom, and a struggle between good bees against bad ones. A final battle with an old adversary and life anew. A story of love, courage, chivalry and new beginnings, and a heroin with a true and loyal heart.
I have really enjoyed this book and looked forward to times of the day when I could loose myself in another, but familiar world (Sunday afternoon matinees on the telly). Uplifting and joyous and just how you'd expect wasps and spiders to sound.
Ooh, and I love honey, me!

The heroine came across to this listener, as unfortunate and didn't listen to her Besty who had sussed out Robert as a stalker. But she knew she had to get away, and this tells how. Doug the DI, whose used to tell the tale, didn't really add much, and this love interest, narrated by the fella, sounded a bit like Fenella Fielding, with a quieter voice. There must be something contractual that prevents the narrators from reading together. That would have been easier to follow and more like a radio play. I guess it would have needed a screen play to deal with the interaction between narrators.

I've all 4 books in the series with Audible, and what a time I've had (pun intended). There are a couple of loose ends, but I can live with them.
I'm a bit of a time travel fan and this series worked very well for me. It was a reluctant start but once Joe had leant a few tricks, he was away with it. Joe has a good moral compass so it's easy to become a fan.
A good performance(s) from Ray Porter and I'd made a comment initially on book 1 regarding his American accent but by the end, I didn't really question it.
Joe became a bit of a celebrity time traveller and it helps to like the hero.

Not sure what I was Iistening to, a biography of Agatha or a fictional story about a fictional story.
the series of podcasts are grouped under True Crime, so is that a fictional story about a true story?
That said, there were tasty nuggets about one of the great Crime wrighters, whether fictional or non-, it was a good listen.
I go to the book festival every year so I'll now have a chance to do some detective work myself...exciting.
With my unmeasured ability of Crime solving, I believe it was...I'll let you make up your own mind...but the butler always did it.
