Not for the first time, I have regretted not sampling the.recording before purchase and not for the fist time found myself trying to compensate for a garbled delivery augmented by sound quality last heard in the days of cassette tapes.

Very bad narration

Some audio recordings are ruined by the quality of narration: this is one of them. The voice sounds like an old man with breathing problems making parts of it unintelligible.

In the decades that followed it witnessed the trials of the most famous and infamous defendants of the twentieth century. It was here that the likes of Madame Fahmy, Lord Haw Haw, John Christie, Ruth Ellis, George Blake (and his unlikely jailbreakers, Michael Randle and Pat Pottle), Jeremy Thorpe and Ian Huntley were defined in history....

A rare experience to find an author and narrator who are prepared to allow the facts of the case or cases to speak for themselves without feeling the need to add sensation of amplify emotion.
