If you liked "Chavs" you'll probably like this.
I was tempted to review this work as "a tasty bit of establishment bashing", and whilst it is indeed a tasty work, I think the term "bashing" would have done the work a disservice, as that term could have implied an attack, based on phobic instinct, rather than any intelligent evidence based analysis and dissection of the issues, which Owen raises.
He's a smart cookie Owen is, isn't he.
OJ for prime minister !!!

Some interesting predictions, from 1997, about our information age and how they will affect society, to the benefit of the emerging new establishments of cyber states and their sovereign individuals, and their techno economic elites.

Chavs
- The Demonization of the Working Class
- By: Owen Jones
- Narrated by: Leighton Pugh
- Length: 11 hrs and 15 mins
- Unabridged

-
Story
In this acclaimed investigation, Owen Jones explores how the working class has gone from 'salt of the earth' to 'scum of the earth.' Exposing the ignorance and prejudice at the heart of the chav caricature, he portrays a far more complex reality. The chav stereotype, he argues, is used by governments as a convenient fig leaf to avoid genuine engagement with social and economic problems and to justify widening inequality.

Story
"Forty-four percent of the American population is convinced that Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead sometime in the next 50 years," writes Sam Harris. "Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government actually believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this...should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency."

Listened to this as it was mentioned in "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. Whilst brilliant, it is not as good as above mentioned book, which, if you haven't already, you must now listen to.
