A precise document that chronologically goes from beginning to end, paying as much respect to the victims as detail in into the mind of the beast himself. If this subject is one that interests you this comes highly recommended by this listener.

I’m a huge fan of courtroom thrillers and I have a new best friend in Charles Holborn.

The author has created a wonderfully corrupt view of London in the 1960,s. Using real criminals of the time is genius. Having the Krays as a backdrop to the first novels is the most original I have listened to. Rise and fall, then Rosa again… or so it seems. Crime writing at its best.

I was hooked from the first title in this series and will happily follow Charles career and cases as long as Simon keeps writing them.

The narration is superb! Possibly the best I have heard. Characters and accents obvious, but not over done.

I doubt the author can satiate my need for these stories quickly enough. Fantastic

The second book by this author. If your interested in real crime, how the police and justice system really works in the UK and the truth about the wretched crimes that people commit this is certainly for you.

This must have been such a harrowing case to work. Going into an investigation that had already been running for well over a decade with no sign of a suspect let alone a resolution must have been incredibly daunting. Enter our protagonist, add some old school policing and what you have is a really interesting study of real crimes, the sickness that drives them and how these amazing professionals solve them.

Loved it.

Chilling. Most of this book is taken from factual documents from the actual time these heinous crimes were committed. I thought I had pretty much heard it all.

This story teller took me back to 1962/3 and walked me through all aspects of the story. The protagonists, police, courts and the public.

Amazingly well researched and put together. If you listen to nothing else on this subject, listen to this. It’s a must.

If you're reading this book, you already know to what the title of this review refers to.

A deep dive into the career and life of Jerry Buting, one part of the co council from Steven Avery's trial. For more than 35 years Mr Buting has been representing the less fortunate as a public defender and then later in his own practice more high profile cases, the biggest of which would be this one, The Steven Avery case brought to a global audience by the Netflix documentary series, Making a Murderer.

The author takes you through the whole case and perhaps more importantly the emotions that all involved went though in this tragedy. Never have I been more convinced that there is an innocent man still rotting jail for a crime he did not commit. The descriptions of how the law should be applied and how they actually were leave you breathless.

The performance in the audio book is superb as is the writing. If you enjoyed the show and want to hear more about the man who was part of a defence that never stood a chance against the machine that is local law enforcement, grab this fantastic book and enjoy.

I won't give anything about the story line away here, but suffice to say a new character your going to love is born...providing you love the genre.

Cormoran Strike is the kind of broken soul that suits this genre so well. A wonderful back story develops the character slowly, yet emphatically throughout this first novel, and on into the next and the next. His sidekick is also a wonderfully thought out character with her own demons.

Give it a go, if you like murder, mystery and suspense you won't be dissapointed.
