Story
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Yet, I still cannot imagine how the books and stoties could be so captivating when it is number 15!
I do feel it is the end of the storyline... I would love for it to have sequels though...

Story
From Joshua Dalzelle comes the follow-up to the number-one best seller Warship. Captain Jackson Wolfe survived the initial incursion of a vicious alien species into human space...barely. He had assumed the juggernaut that had devastated three Terran systems was the herald for a full invasion, but for the last few years it has been eerily quiet along the Frontier. Jackson now struggles to convince the Confederate leadership the threat is still imminent and needs to be taken seriously.

With the help of a command AI, the hole in the Daedalus has been fixed by Hazel and her friends. But in the process, they have antagonized the Yi, the aliens who are actually controlling the Daedalus. After a daring escape from the Yi, Hazel and her friends now must convince the people of the Daedalus villages and the village leaders that the Yi exist - and that they must fight back in order to survive. This proves tricky, as those in power don't want their authority challenged.

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

The story is fairly average, some action at the end ONLY. It would not be that bad if not just ONE of the performers. all of the performers read very well, except the one who was reading Ona Sudak character.
if you want to know how NOT to read, the listen to those chapters, as she read with REGULAR awe at the end of each sentence and sometimes even in the middle.
You can notice that better if you listen at 1.35x speed, because otherwise it is just WAY TOO SLOW...

I have listened to it while driving, cleaning and washing dishes, like almost all the other books...
BUT!
This book lacks a proper storyline, there are no real characters in it. The military "jokes" are plain "flat" - you listen and say WT*...
There was only one chapter at the end that gave me hopes that there will be something original and better the rest of this junk, but... no.
The description of battles is really simplistic and stupid... Aliens look like are not sentient at all, though somehow they have technology, but behave like mad bugs...
The reading of this book is SO MONOTONOUS... Sorry, man, but NO.

Story
For short-lived races like humans, space is dominated by the complicated, grandiose Mercatoria. To the Dwellers who may live billions of years, the galaxy consists of their gas-giant planets - the rest is debris. Fassin Taak is a Slow Seer privileged to work with the Dwellers of the gas-giant Nasqueron. His work consists of rummaging for data in their vast, disorganised memories and libraries. Unfortunately, without knowing it, he's come close to an ancient secret of unimaginable importance.

I read review and thought it would be just another great SF book, but... I have been reading SF since I was 10 and it was one of the worst books ever... I am very disappointed. You may think differently, but skip it and go somewhere else.
it was a MONUMENTAL strugle to listen to it to the end with few great books in between.
