Story
Reserved, controlled, and proper to a fault, Kai Young has neither the time nor inclination for chaos - and Isabella, with her purple hair and inappropriate jokes, is chaos personified. With a crucial CEO vote looming and a media empire at stake, the billionaire heir can't afford the distraction she brings. Isabella is everything he shouldn't want, but with every look and every touch, he's tempted to break all his rules...and claim her as his own. Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesn't like or a man she couldn't charm...except for Kai Young.

THE HORRIBLE BRITISH ACCENT
Reviewed: 30-04-24
I absolutely loved King of Wrath and the way it was narrated, but who tf was narrating Kai in King if Pride. Absolutely horrible performance and the fake British accent is awful. I have never heard someone pronounce piano that way. I couldn’t focus on the story cause I was constantly saying wtf whenever Kai spoke. Why couldn’t they use the same narrators as King of Wrath? They nailed the voices. I couldn’t finish this one, the narration is just THAT horrible. Kai sounded funny and sexy in King of Wrath. He sounds pretentious and idiotic in this one and it is purely the voice/accent. Gonna just read this one instead. SAVE YOURSELF THE CREDIT

Story
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me. Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me. Which could spell death for us all.

Why do the voice actors sound like they’re in their 30s

Leah’s British accent is awful and she sounds like she’s 40 when she’s meant to be a teenager. Same with Jackson! These characters are meant to be teenagers and they all sound old??? This on top of the writing / storyline ughhh. The whole ripping off the legacies (writer couldn’t be bothered with world building it seems). The characters saying things like ‘sexy af’. The main character caring more about a guy she’s known for a week more than her dead parents!! Like what even is this story?
