Story
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life in the New Forest. He does the odd bit of investigation work, but he likes his familiar habits and routines. His days of adventure are over: adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s business now. Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul: she doesn’t stay still long enough for a habit or routine. She’s currently on a private island keeping world-famous author Rosie D’Antonio alive. Which was meant to be an easy job. Then a dead body, a bag of money, and a killer with their sights on Amy mean an end to Steve’s quiet life.

Good book but no TMC

I did like it. Took a while to get in too, but the vastness of characters and flitting about did make it more difficult to follow. Kept going back to listen the last chapter. It’s not Thursday murder club but I did like it. The reading of it was great!

Story
Maggie Bird is a lot of things. A chicken farmer. A courteous neighbor. And a seemingly average 60-year-old woman living a quiet life in bucolic Purity, Maine. She attends a weekly book club where she drinks martinis (stirred, not shaken) with her other retired friends. She's a darned good rifle shot. And she never talks about her past. When a mysterious woman turns up dead in Maggie's driveway, she knows it's a calling card from old times. Maggie and her "book club" swiftly revert to espionage mode.

Story
Geoffrey Lushington, Mayor of Marlow, dies suddenly during a Town Council meeting. When traces of aconite – also known as the queen of poisons – are found in his coffee cup, the police realise he was murdered. But who did it? And why? The police bring Judith, Suzie and Becks in to investigate as Civilian Advisors right from the start, so they have free rein to interview suspects and follow the evidence to their heart’s content, which is perfect because Judith has no time for rules and standard procedure. But this case has the Marlow Murder Club stumped.

Story
Charlie Renfrew is too busy and too broke for a love life. There's no room in a schedule crammed with university, a full-time job, music, and his very committed relationship with overthinking. Hence the dating ban. Which is exactly when Ben Campbell shows up with his piercings, quirky knits, and indie rock fame. But maybe it's time for Charlie to trade caffeine for something hotter, blonder, and completely out of his comfort zone. Gorgeous, funny men don't happen to Charlie. Not like this. Even if it's ill-timed and too bloody complicated. But maybe a quick shag won't hurt . . .

Get the book and read it yourself
Reviewed: 04-01-24
I love this book, I love the story. the constant self deprivation is real in this day and age, but it has a happy ending. However, if the story hadn’t ripped me from the very beginning, I would’ve had to have stopped the book and read it myself. I’m sorry to say but the person reading it is just awful. It is so monotone and there is just no emotion or change in tone throughout the book. Whether he be upset, angry or sad, his voice just sounds the same and it is very annoying all in all a good read, but I would recommend you buying the book and reading yourself.

Story
There are plenty of words Jonah Collins could use to describe Dylan Ramírez. 'Arrogant', 'spoiled', and 'golden boy', to name a few. Likewise, Dylan thinks he has Jonah all figured out: an attention-seeking asshat who never shuts his filthy mouth. Their friends are convinced Jonah's and Dylan's disdain for one another is just thinly veiled lust - a rumour that surges like wildfire when the two wake up in the same bed after homecoming...

Really love this

I was unsure to begin with and it took me a couple of chapters but the book is lovely and it’s such a great listen. Just shows there is such a thin line between love and hate. It’s so real and it just tells the truth and I love it! Would really recommend.
