Not the best book I've listened to. I found the story line long winded and slow.
I stuck with it but not a page turner.

In her first published mystery, Agatha Christie introduces readers to the heroic detective, Hercule Poirot. This is a classic murder mystery set in the outskirts of Essex. The victim is the wealthy mistress of Styles Court. The list of suspects is long and includes her gold-digging new spouse and stepsons, her doctor, and her hired companion.

I purchased this for 78 pence, it was an offer. Even for that price I am not going to keep it. I couldn't listen to it as it is so badly read. that is a shame as it is a good story, but even that couldn't stop me sending it back.

Story
On the night of the school prom, a young teacher is found dead in the Thames in a drug-related accident. It seems - at first - to be another sign that Cherringham High is spiralling out of control. The new head however is convinced that the teacher's death is suspicious and quietly calls in Sarah Edwards. With her one-time detective partner, Jack Brennan, back in America, Sarah is at first reluctant to take on the case. But when she does get involved, it soon becomes clear that the tragic accident might really be a case of murder - and even Sarah herself could be in danger.

Good as always

It was enjoyable to have a feature length story. Narrated well as always. I had a few technical issues with the download and the play back. Had to turn phone off to get it all going again a few times. It might have been just my phone though. Didn't ruin the story.

Story
When a group of international activists arrive on the Faroe Islands intent on stopping whale hunts, or grindadrap, tensions between islanders and protestors run high. And when a woman is found murdered only hours after a violent confrontation at a whale drive, the circumstances seem purposely designed to create even more animosity between the two sides. For Faroese detective Hjalti Hentze and DI Jan Reyna, the case exposes personal connections and conflicts of interest.

A good second book
Reviewed: 11-08-18
This is a good second book and an interesting idea for a series of books.
There is a pause now between chapters and the change from first to third person and that has improved the flow and is less confusing.
The narration is excellent and the characterizations are perfect.
Highly recommend this series.

A good story and plot. You have to pay attention as it goes from 1st person to third person in a paragraph. A little odd to start with but you get used to it.

Story
A highly entertaining, wonderfully colourful story, now revealed to be written by one of our favourite historical novelists. The gilded family had been the envy and the pride of England for centuries. Never had the Lazenders seemed more powerful or more wealthy. And never had the unseen means of their destruction seemed so close…Yet the heir to the estate was absent. Toby Lazender worked for the British in Revolutionary France - where he hunted down the men who had murdered the innocent girl he loved.

Story
Why Mummy Drinks is the brilliant novel from Gill Sims, the author of the online sensation Peter and Jane. It is Mummy's 39th birthday. She is staring down the barrel of a future of people asking if she wants to come to their advanced yoga classes and polite book clubs where everyone claims to be tiddly after a glass of Pinot Grigio and says things like 'oooh gosh, are you having another glass?'

I got this as a daily deal and based on the reviews decided to give it a try.
It is not the usual sort of book I listen to and I don't even have children, but could relate to that side of it with my sister in mind. I really enjoyed it and it is very funny. The narrator is perfect.
Look forward to the next one.
