Story
The enemy unknowingly opened a portal to the Netherworld, and our world’s only wizard somehow managed to close it. Unfortunately, something got through. Something big. A dragon. Now Kaz Wolfe, with help from his dog Duke who is channeling the spirit of a wizard from ancient Babylon, and with no help from Azib the Cowardly Genie, must find the dragon before someone gets a cellphone video of the thing, and the world learns that magic is real. Or, you know, before the dragon eats someone.

Another Great Story From Craig Alanson!

This series gets better and better. A talking Dog, a sarcastic genie, a mystical cat with attitude, plus 2 knights. What’s not to like??
The story has pace, excitement, intrigue and laughs . Another great performance from RC Bray who brings these characters to life. Listened once, probably will again. Can’t wait for the next book!!

Story
An elite team of SAS special operators battle across the multiverse after a plague of land-hungry sentient robots invade today’s Earth. But, when an aircraft carrier-based counterattack goes horribly wrong, it traps the team in an alien universe with a top-secret group who’ve already saved the world twice. After discovering a dark plot that threatens humanity’s very existence, the two groups jump into action, fighting both on the surface and in orbit in a last-ditch effort to stop the enemy before time runs out.

Strange Compilation

Reason for my review is the jumping between the start of the story and the second part. Thought I’d missed something but went with it. Now on checking out more of the series, this is intentional?? Come on. I want to be entertained by an audio book, not left wondering why the story and characters change completely.
I can’t fault Mr Brays performance and the alluding to another series character, made me laugh. But I’m not buying a book that runs with 2 totally different storylines. Too confusing to contend with.

This series will reel you in faster than an 80s action flick punch line! I found the storyline intriguing, the character development kept my attention, especially Brody the armoured AI. Good pace, lots of action and mystery to boot. Plus Mr Brays narration, is excellent as always. Really enjoyed this and have already purchased book 2. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Ruins of The Earth - Brilliant!

I’ve been looking for a new sci-fi series to listen to for a few months now. This storyline hits the spot. Plausible characters that I’m enjoying getting to know about, fast paced action, good plot that is engaging and entertaining, all enhanced with the vocal talents of R C Bray. What’s not like??
Give it a go. You won’t be disappointed!
