Story
Rose loves horses - from a distance. She's always found them a bit scary up close. When she wins a pony in a competition, she has to face her fears and learn to ride. But this is no ordinary pony: Maltie Delight is a bona fide superstar, and he knows it. How will this selfie-loving prima donna ever settle for shy Rose as his owner? Can a Wild West riding camp help them learn to live together - or will it be a diva disaster?

I enjoyed listening to this book but it didn't really grip me. Well written but I found the character of Rosie irritating and a pony that spent most of his time preening himself was just too unbelievable. I'd recommend the book maybe for the younger kids but this big kid just wasn't impressed. Sorry.

Story
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

This is an excellent police procedural with engaging and entertaining characters. DC Smith is an old school copper and his young sidekick Waters brings a lot to the story. A very good listen and I'll be watching out for more in the series and other books by this author. Highly Recommended. Narration was spot on.

This is a great addition to this new Taco Truck series from Dennis Shock, Following on from book 1, kier? aka Zoe once again finds herself mixed up in murder. Well paced with good character development she tries to help her US Marshall friend Ray to solve the murder of an old flames husband and discover the whereabouts of an old master that's gone missing. Jeff Moon once again nailed the narration. Recommended listen.

Overall very highly recommended with dramatic and gripping narration from Jessica Whittaker. I look forward to seeking out more of Abby's work.

Great Story. But Why?
Reviewed: 15-03-25
This is another great story in the Ryan series. Why are they getting shorter and shorter though, this one is only about half the running time of book 1 and is a lot shorter than many of the others in the series. The main story is very good and the sub story is gripping but it is only half finished. I don't mind being left with a cliff-hanger at the end of a book but this one left me frustrated. Jonathon Keebles narration was spot on as always.

I enjoyed this book although it was a little more romantic than I like. The story is quite good if a little predictable but very easy to listen to. I have listened to book 1 as well and it was a good foundation for this one which I thought the better of the 2. Jenny Myers narration was spot on with plenty of different voices for the characters, Overall highly Recommended.

Story
From where I stand in the shadows outside the pub I own, I can already tell what mood my husband’s in and it makes me want to stay exactly where I am. However, I can also see my bar manager, Jay. Sexy, young and exciting, he’s the person who’s going to set me free from my middle-aged monotony. I’m dreading turning fifty more than I’ve dreaded any other birthday in my life. Now that my kids are at university, the prospect of spending the rest of my life with my bullying, balding and boring husband is a miserable one.
