There really are some people whom don't like children

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lottie Lane because whatever happened and also whatever was thrown at her she just picked up her skirts and got on with it

What about Annie Aldington’s performance did you like?

I liked Annie's performance as she managed to do lots of different voices so we knew who was speaking and also we were able to keep up with the story.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I DON'T KNOW IT'S JUST TOO GOOD

Which Character is speaking??

Would you consider the audio edition of Secrets of the Lighthouse to be better than the print version?

There probably wouldn't be any difference since this narrator doesn't make each character stand out so that you never know which one is speaking.

What could Santa Montefiore have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Choose a Narrator with a bit of life in their voice.

What aspect of Maggie Mash and Gerri Halligan ’s performance might you have changed?

Chosen somebody else to narrate it

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Knowing the after life!!

The story was fairly good but as I have already said you needed someone with a bit of life in their voice to narrate it. Although do you really want o know what the after-life feels and thinks and also maybe choose a different sex to read the after life voice as it is very difficult to decipher which voice is reading which character to keep a track on the story. As quite often you had to rewind it and listen again.

What made the experience of listening to The Wedding Cake Tree the most enjoyable?

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA TO GET A WAYWARD DAUGHTER ON AN UNUSUAL HOLIDAY BUT BY HITCHING HER UP WITH A GOOD FRIEND ON-ROUTE.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wedding Cake Tree?

WHEN GRACE WAS TOLD THAT SHE COULDN'T INHERITE THE HOUSE UNTIL SHE HAD TAKEN THIS JOURNEY HER MOTHER HAD PLANNED WITHOUT TELLING HER ANY OF THE DETAILS.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

WHEN GRACE GOT STUCK ON THE MOUNTAIN IN THE STORM. ALSO WHEN THEY WHERE BIRD WATCHING AND GRACE WAS DETERMINED TO SIT STILL TO PROVE THAT SHE COULD EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO CHANCE.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

NO IT WAS ALL VERY MOVING. AND IT MADE ME HOWL WITH LAUGHTER QUITE A FEW TIMES.

Watery Fall but Great & Uplifting

Where does The River Folk rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is good but is one of my favourites even though Margaret Dickinson is one of my favourite authors.

Which character – as performed by Patricia Gallimore – was your favourite?

Mary-Anne and Lizzie are 2 of my favourite characters probably because they play main roles

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me sigh when you get the impression when a main character dies.

Any additional comments?

This book has it's highs and also it's lows but also has ongoing romances which is hard to follow as to who is who. But all in all a really great book and hard to leave alone it makes you keep coming back to listen to some more of the romance.

Fantastic Story-tear jerker

Would you consider the audio edition of A Loving Family to be better than the print version?

I don't like print versions of anything especially this because as you listen to the story it takes you in your mind into the story, you can almost see what's happening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Loving Family?

When Stella met the gentleman that helped her as a child and then turned out to continue helping her as she grew older in different positions.

Which character – as performed by Penelope Freeman – was your favourite?

The young chap that you imagined looked very much younger and looked shorter in height than he actually was but very helpful even if he couldn't accomplish what was being asked of him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When we found out that Kit was a man not a woman and also that he refused to get a job to keep his sister and look after her.

A must listen and be prepared to have a hanky to hand.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes if you would like to be totally hooked and listen to this in one sitting, my emotions were tugged in all directions.

Who was your favorite character and why?
My favourite character was Charlie he made some tough decisions before he died on more than one occasion.

What does Penelope Freeman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
She had a great way of bringing the characters to life with her different voices and keeping you hooked to the book.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me cry on more than one occasion, it had a very emotional storyline.

Fantastic Book

Where does The Villa rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The most fantastic book so far, I was completely hooked onto it, I kept coming back to it at every opportunity. Some work didn't get done because I wanted to listen to this book. Would recommend to anyone.

What did you like best about this story?

You didn't know what was going to happen next and also you felt like you were part of the story.

What does Anna Bentinck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She makes you feel like you are in the story itself.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she found the villa for the first time.

Brilliant I am looking forward to hearing something else from this author.

Not the secret you expect

Would you listen to The Husband's Secret again? Why?

No because once you know the secret and also the gist of the story there isn't any point in re-listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Husband's Secret?

Finding out what the secret was and the husbands response once the wife knew.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I liked most of the book apart from the fact that it strung of in too many directions which was really unnecessary.

YES to keep track of it but NO because its too long

No things always sound so much better when you hear things.

That he even managed to escape out the care home window unnoticed
