Boring and predictable drama with too much erotica. Not my cup of tea.

I love Lisa Jewels books and have read most of them. I do miss the lack of suspense and unpredictability.

Story
India, 1855. There are two kinds of magic in Chompa's world. The kind her mother favours: writing-magic, which anyone can do if they take the time. Write a spell in Farsi, and wait. It's calm, controlled, safe, says Ammi. It's slow, frustrating, boring, thinks Chompa. Then there's finger-magic, which only those descended from ancient djinn are born with. Immediate, powerful - and dangerous, for every act of finger-magic leaves a trace, and comes at a price.

I recently discovered Lisa Jewell and as someone late to the party love how she creates suspense and has you guessing up to the last minute.
This book does not disappoint. The narration and switches to podcasts are very well executed and had me drawn in. Cant wait to read more from this amazing author.

Story
This book is not just about how I got back on my horse and went clippity-clop all the way to the World Cup final in Japan. It's the story of how a fat kid who had to live up to the nickname Psycho grew up to play (and party) for over a decade with rugby's greatest pros. From just about surviving the equivalent of 30 car crashes a game and crooning Adele for team spirit, to extensive field notes on the smell of the Scrum and the fine art of on-pitch relief. Then there's rugby's secret naked wrestling scene and how it was exposed. In my world, you never know how the ball will bounce.

What a journey! I identified with this book on lots of levels. Joe's delivery is fantastic. It made me laugh out loud and gave me lots of food for thought. Thank you for the honesty, raising awareness to mental health and the inside knowledge of what it is like being in a scrum. I will never look at one without wondering if someone is singing Adele.

Story
When Monty Don's golden retriever, Nigel, became the surprise star of BBC's Gardeners' World, inspiring huge interest, fan mail and even his own social media accounts, Monty Don wanted to explore what makes us connect with animals quite so deeply. In many respects Nigel is a very ordinary dog - charming, handsome and obedient, as so many are. He is also a much loved family pet. He is also a star. By telling Nigel's story, Monty relates his relationships with other special dogs in his life in a memoir of his dogs past and very much present.
