Story
This is the whole story, right from the beginning: the sun-bleached streets, the grimy bars on the Sunset Strip, knowing Daisy’s moment was coming. Relive the euphoria of success and experience the terror that nothing will ever be as good again. Take the uppers so you can keep on believing, take the downers so you can sleep, eventually. Wonder who you are without the drugs or the music or the fans or the family that prop you up. Make decisions that will forever feel tough. Find beauty where you least expect it.

Perfect audio experience
Reviewed: 11-02-24
I am not somebody who was ever interested in audio books as I prefer reading but two people whose opinion I value very much really enjoy them so I've decided to try some. I have searched out books which have been described as better for being experienced through audio and Daisy Jones and The Six 100% deserves this description. I think the constant swapping between narrators works so much better with the distinctive voices than it ever could on paper; and all the performances are award worthy. The story itself is surprisingly touching, especially the ending, for being so sex, drugs and rock and roll. Good enough to make me want to read other works by this author which for me is a mark of a good story.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night cleaner shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium. Ever since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat over thirty years ago, keeping busy has helped her cope. One night she meets Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium who sees everything, but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

I have trouble deciding if the story or the production was what worked best. Great storyline and characters and brought to life so well.
