Highly recommend this book. Not the usual tripe, boy meets girl, one of them gets pissed off over some misunderstanding, they get back together in the last 5 minutes of the book. This had substance, it was sad, emotional, witty and actually believable! Narrators were very good too, an added bonus.

Not very gripping

This is a story that should have teenage boys and girls as the main characters. It's soaked with teenage like drama through and through. Extremely unbelievable as an adult story for the most part. Who goes on holidays and immerses themselves so deeply in strangers lives? Ridiculous.

Story
On the one hand, if Essie hadn't written that letter - the one that only her best friend was meant to see - then she'd still be living like an actual proper grown-up, tucked up with Paul in his picture-perfect cottage, maybe even planning their wedding.... On the other hand (if her true feelings hadn't accidentally taken the Internet by storm, that is), she never would have met Zillah and Conor - not to mention Lucas. And she'd never have found out just how much life there is to be lived....

A bit heavy on the coincidences.
Reviewed: 12-02-23
This was a nice story, easy listening and an interesting enough story line. The narrator was brilliant, good a accents and in particular the male voices, very good differentiation. The only gripe I have is that there are far, far too many coincidences happening from start to finish. I appreciate it's set in a smallish city but I live in a small city and never bump into people at the rate these characters do! But that's not enough to be put off, have a listen, it's worth it.

What if what you really need is right there in front of you, if you just take a moment to look up? Milly has been waiting for this moment forever, and finally it’s just an hour away - an interview with Vogue magazine and the opportunity to get her Louboutin-clad foot in the door. There’s just one problem - totally engrossed in her mobile phone, Milly doesn’t see the bus that is fast approaching - until it’s too late....

It was well written, the narration is very good and it's witty which I needed just after Christmas!

Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.

It's an ok book. The story was a bit lack lustre and there was far far too much narration from Nora. Very slow moving and nothing really happens. Still, it's worth a listen if you want something that you can easily multi task to.

What a disaster! I only just made my flight to New York to help my uncle, and the phone I'm holding is not mine! It seems to belong to some commitment-phobic serial dater who's never made it past four dates (according to the constant notifications he's getting from his fake dating profile).... And worse? I have a sinking feeling it's that hot suit-monkey with the arctic grey eyes I just had a run-in with at the airport. Somehow, I have to persuade him not to get a new phone until I get back. My whole life is on that phone. I knew I should have backed it up. It's only a few days. Surely, we can handle it.

Emmy needed a funt up the h*le in the second last chapter. I almost stopped listening but for the sake of 2 chapters, I kept going. She deserved another funt in the last chapter for doing a full 360 and becoming whiney! Also the constant introduction of messages with 'Suit Monkey' and later on 'Tristan' nearly gave me a brain haemorrhage. But despite all this, it wasn't terrible for a free book, the premise of the story was good.

I would gladly have used a credit for this book but it was free and what a gem! A wonderful story of a young girl who was a freedom fighter in Rhodes in 1944/45. Such an emotional book, I learned so much about Rhodes during WW2, something I never even thought about before. The narrator was exceptional in my opinion, although some didn't like her I just don't know why.
