perfect easy rom com

I loved the story, characters, even the emotional part that made me cry. Only thing that got me was the noise of scribbling out the resolutions, the noise shocked me the first time then got a bit ott. otherwise a lovely escapism especially like it when it is acknowledged that woman don't need a man, house and or kids to be happy and successful :) my first listen from this author I will be listening to more 😊

Story
Actress Pam St Clement, best known as EastEnders' Pat Butcher, shares her life story. In January 2012, one of EastEnders' longest-serving and best-loved characters breathed her last when Pat Butcher succumbed to cancer. Her departure from the show gave actress Pam St Clement time to reflect, not only on almost 26 years playing a role that she loved, but also on her whole life. Pam's mother died when she was a baby, leaving her with a father whose life didn't really have space for a child.

I was intrigued when I saw online that Pam was bisexual, and delighted to learn about her life. Her love of animals and experiences growing up. it's the first biography I've ever listened to. I loved it and it even kept me calm during a toe operation!!! highly recommend this!!

Story
Fast Friends is a warm and funny romantic novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Jill Mansell. For fans of Lucy Diamond, Cathy Kelly and Marian Keyes. When bored housewife and mother Camilla Stewart impulsively invites her old school chums for dinner, she hardly imagines that the evening will shatter her comfortable existence. But Roz Vallender and Loulou Marks are no ordinary guests.

way too many characters, it jumps alot!! the last chapter is too this is how it all ends...
I normally love her books but this really didn't work for me. I kept with it but didn't always keep up with all the story lines. if your happy ending is having kids this is good for you, if not then less so. don't like leaving bad reviews but this was disappointing. narrator was good tho, didn't make annoying fake children voices like some do.

Story
Gwen’s life has stalled. She’s in her mid-thirties, perpetually single, her friends are busy procreating in the country and conversations with her parents seem to revolve entirely around herbaceous borders and the council’s wheelie-bin timetable. Above all she’s lonely. But then, isn’t everyone? When Gwen’s made redundant from a job she drifted into a decade ago and never left, she realises it’s time to make a change.

charity shop goodness if you love charity shops
Reviewed: 13-05-23
not for you if you don't like stories jumping around, it's a sweet patchwork of charity shop reality. I was a charity shop manager and lots is very true but even I lost track of all the stories half way through. a trip to the dentist? felt like it was in there just to tick a box. shame, the narrator was good.
Big thumbs up for women actually being able to say they don't want kids, but could have been handled slightly better.
I won't be recommending this book, sorry.

Meet Brooke: a bisexual Bridget Jones, a millennial Meg Ryan, a girl standing in front of a boy asking him—wait, it doesn’t have to be a boy? For Brooke, ‘The One’ could be anyone. As long as it’s the type of (actually highly problematic) movie love she’s watched on repeat since she was a little girl. Brooke writes algorithms for a dating app, which is odd given what a hopeless romantic she is.
