It changed me
Reviewed: 01-08-24
Since I saw the Netflix documentary on Ram Dass, I have been drawn to diving deeper into his story, as I knew little about this hippy trippy psychologist, turned yogi. It describes a heart-warming story of a sincere but sometimes hedonistic and power oriented scientific psychologist in search of a deeper connection with self through psychedelics, stumbling on a humble guru that completely changed the course of his life and that of many, including mine. I loved the vulnerability, honesty and insights and I indeed believe Ram Dass has given voice to the teachings of Maharaj-Ji, that are now part of my consciousness.

This audio collection brings us five essential sessions, featured in the Ram Dass documentary film Becoming Nobody, presented here in their entirety. Through teaching stories, true accounts, eye-opening revelations, and his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, this legendary teacher helps show us the way out of the prison of our self-identity - and into the joy of being at once “nobody” and the universal divine at play in the world.

Very clarifying to see where dots connect... It has broadened my horizon, understanding and vocabulary. The voice was probably chosen to be far from overstimulating, but the monotony and differences in sound quality are somewhat distracting. Nevertheless it's a must listen for folks who want better understanding of the scope of neurodiversity and how to change the paradigm of stigmatising pathology to embracing these pure gifts of sensitivity.

By reading/listening I've become more aware of the pitfalls an misconceptions about near and far enemies of emotions and habits, and the underlying dynamics of them, making me understand myself and others better. I think I'm more able to establish and maintain better connections and sincerity.
Brene rocks, as always.

I definitely look forward to this brilliant combination of Matt Haig and Carey Mulligan ❤️
