Story
A brutal double murder on a Norfolk beach horrifies the town of Cromer. The way the victims died is chilling and so Norfolk’s Major Investigation Team task DS Ashley Knight to manage the case. It soon becomes clear that the murders were carefully planned and the finger of suspicion points to an organised crime gang, but as the evidence mounts, a far more sinister theory emerges.

Gripping Tale.
Reviewed: 05-03-24
An excellent novel, with an engaging storyline and well developed characters. The insight into the psychology of the police detective and the team is enlightening.
The setting is delightful, and it was good to read the praise for the Norfolk accent.
The narration is superb, with an impressive range of voices. As for the South Walian, it sounds so authentic it could be given to first year linguistics students for phonetic transcription practice.
Roll on “Death in Paradise”.

The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Brilliant, amazing, arousing and magnificent. This is Harper Fox at her most masterful, carrying the reader along the crests of cruel waves and into the snowy stillness of highland glens.
Pitch-perfect narration from Miles London makes this a joy for the listener.

Story
Now Lee is free from the malevolent ghost of Morris Hawke, his clairvoyant gifts are expanding fast. Too fast for comfort, and he and Gideon find themselves wrestling with his unsettling capacity to see the future. In some ways this new power is wonderful, and Lee finds himself a local hero after predicting a flood. But there's one aspect he can't bear, and that's the blind spot he sees when he thinks about the wedding plans he and Gideon have started to make. It's as if this event, which he wants more than life, simply isn't going to happen.

It was very difficult to stop listening: I didn’t.
I loved the broadening of the protagonists’ relationship- deep from the earliest, and enjoyed the unfolding of the ably crafted story.
Well written and well narrated.

Story
Gideon Frayne has spent his whole working life as a policeman in the village of Dark on Bodmin Moor. His first missing-child case is eating him alive. When his own boss sends in a psychic to help with the case, he's gutted - he's a level-headed copper who doesn't believe in such things, and he can't help but think that the arrival of clairvoyant Lee Tyack is a comment on his failure to find the little girl. But Lee is hard to hate, no matter how Gideon tries. At first Lee's insights into the case make no sense, but he seems to have a window straight into Gideon's heart.

A splendid story, engaging from the outset. The author’s use of pathetic fallacy and the integrity of the character development would have made my old English teacher beam like the summer sun on Arran.
The description of the island is entrancing and the depiction of sheep farm life enlightening.
The narration is outstanding and the narrator’s pacing consummate. ‘Tis grand to hear the Gaelic, too.
