Story
SAS trooper Matt 'Lastman' Standing is a lethal killing machine with experience in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Plus he's worked with French in the past. It's not a mission he wants, but Standing made a bad choice in his past, and it has come back to haunt him. Now he's hunting French in the lawless Wild West forests of Humboldt County, where the US produces most of its legal - and illegal - cannabis. But French isn't the only predator in the wilderness - there are Mexican cartels, Russian Mafia and Hungarian gangsters - and Standing has to overcome them all to get to his target.

Too much filler!!
Reviewed: 15-04-23
I'm not even done listening and I'm already fed up with the amount of endless rambling conversation in this story.
It was an endless lecture in the workings of the cannabis industry. I have overdosed several times on all that information.
For me, it added Very little, if anything at all, to the story line.
The rest of the story was good.

Good story, awful narrator
Reviewed: 11-11-19
I managed to get to book 3 and gave up, the narrator is just unbearable. Does any one know what style of reading he's using?
It's like her unsure where the sentences end.
I couldn't bear him which is a great shame cause I think I would have listened to all the books by now.
The most recent book has the same narrator so there goes that.

I listened to this book every spare minute I had even foregoing sleep (keeping in mind that I am a sleep deprived parent).
It is very eye opening and informative and I highly recommend it.
I cannot do justice to all the points covered and I won't even try. it's essential listening particularly for parents in mix race families.
I will be listening to it again

Awful narration!
Reviewed: 09-10-18
I loved book one in this series. The narrator was amazing and the characters sounded realistic and credible.
Book 2 is an utter disappointment and giving up on chapter 5. As the other reviewer said, the narrator makes Danny sound like a thug and his team too. I could not bear it. I'm returning the book and will repurchase once either the narrator for book one narrates this one or another narrator does.
such a shame too, I was really looking forward to the series.

this book has been an eye opener particularly with the references to cultural differences. I'd never understood why ppl seemed to misunderstand what I was saying and also the motives behind my saying it.
these things should be taught in schools. it would make life so much easier as we navigate our way around the ever increasing multicultural workplaces.
get the book. it will be immediately useful.
