Story
When Matt Ballard was starting out his career, three boys were murdered in the same area, the remote and bleak Gibbet Fen. When the main suspect was killed in a hit-and-run, the killings stopped. But Matt was not satisfied that the real murderer had been caught. Over 25 years later, Matt gets a photo in an unmarked envelope. It's of the Gibbet Fen crime scene. And the picture was taken before the murder took place. More photos arrive, relating to the historic murders, as well as intimate pictures of Matt's very secret private life.

Story
A woman is found face-down in a pool of blood. Detective Lottie Parker is called to the remote farmhouse in the bleak Irish countryside. Inside, she finds a scene that speaks of uncontrollable rage: glasses smashed, chairs ripped apart, the woman’s body broken. A black rain jacket makes Lottie think she knows the killer’s identity, but then she finds a disturbing clue: is the murder linked to an old case at St Declan’s asylum - a case investigated by her own father, just before he took his life?

I listened to this over two nights and 100% I will be downloading more books by Robin Carr.
the narrator was great and really brought the book to life and had different voices for characters but not over the top stupid ones that turn you off a book, so I will be listening to more than this lady has narrated as well as the author.

To Rosie,
This book is no exception to every other book you write, I could cry for the people and the heartache that threads through your writing and I just melt at the end.
Also the lady that reads your stories is just amazing and makes it real through listening on audible. I honestly just buy the next book straight away and wonder if you will write a 2nd book with these characters and hearts
big hugs and thank you
