First, the story: Another fast paced story set in the sentinel security world and while it was a novella, it didn’t lack in action, romance or steam. This story follows Knox, a new member of the security team, and Nola, Nick’s sister. Knox has to protect Nola and on the run, they fall in love. While love at pretty much first sight is a little much, I loved the characters’ chemistry, their ability to work together and the strength of Nola even in the face of duress. A great addition to the series, set in an expansive world where we often get visits from other favorite characters in other series. And then- add in Teddy Hamilton (My favorite) and Stella Bloom (Wonderful) and the story came to life! Love it!

If you want to read or listen to a book (and multiple series) where there are many amazing women who are strong, smart, crafty and exciting, look no further than Anna Hackett’s books. Does she have strong alpha characters like Sten through all her books? Yes! But also, the women are those we should all aspire to be- women who don’t give up, who try to find solutions and have an inner strength to be an equal partner, who save themselves and partner with their men. Carys, the queen, is no exception. Not a wilting flower, she is a knight too and fought as well as Sten. Many harrowing moments were had because they were on the run after having escaped. But their push pull relationship with the chemistry between them evident also took center stage. Another well balanced fun story that makes me sad because it is the final Oronis story. I know more is to come from this wonderful author but I always feel sad when her series come to an end as I love the characters and worlds she develops. And the narration was spectacular but this is expected for Stella Bloom and Aaron Shedlock!

What can I say about this book except it is nonstop action and romance. Ren and Halle are perfect together. This is a best friend's daughter romance with a bit of an age gap. But more so, I loved how smart and capable Halle was and how together, they managed the evade the people chasing after Halle. While there is a definite formula to how the book works, the situations that the main characters get into always feel different and more so, there is always so much fast paced action, it keeps me enthralled till the end. Throw in visits from some of my favorite characters from her world and Anna Hackett has a true fan in me! And the audiobook rocks! Stella Bloom, as always, is fantastic- playing her roles and others to perfection. John Lane also did really well and I loved his interpretation of the characters. A wonderful way to live through the story!

My absolute favorite trope, the friends to lovers romance was done perfectly and dare I say, realistically, in this story. Rainer was too late to tell Maeve that he loved her and 8 years later, and 3 children in, they are best friends but nothing more. Heartbreak hits Maeve and the way Rainer treats her and her children made me swoon. As a woman who bears the responsibility for 3 children, Maeve's concerns and issues were realistic and so emotional that I loved being a part of the paving of her happiness and their HEA. Everyone should hope to get a partner like Rainer. What a beautiful story. I also listened to the audiobook, narrated by Erin Mallon and Robert Hatchett who both did fantastic jobs bringing this story to life.

Pippa Grant creates the most wonderful, hilarious, and slightly awkward characters that are full of heart. I love this series of stories that follow a group of baseball players for a well loved but not well performing baseball team. The best part of these stories are the characters from the entire world- the stories are ensemble cast romances where we see our favorites over and over again.

My favorite story in this series is irresistable trouble- sunshine/sunshine cast that made me smile nonstop. And Cooper Rock was a character that I was waiting for anxiously and his story was perfection. I absolutely loved it and it was the perfect way to cap off the series.

That's not to say that the rest of the series wasn't wonderful- each story built on the other and whet my appetite for more peeks into this wonderful, amusing world. Think laugh out loud scenes followed by plenty of swoons and just stories that feel like hugs from your favorite fictional friends. What a great collection of stories and now, as an audiobook, brought to life by a group of amazing narrators, the humor and heart really stand out. This is one of those series and sets that just keeps a smile on my face and I can’t wait for more from this author!

Troy and Dahlia's romance was fast and sweet- a pining between two coworkers that lasted for years. Now that Dahlia is in danger, Troy will drop everything to protect her and there's a forced proximity element that was well done and fun. I really enjoyed the push and pull between these two because it wasn't overdrawn. Great chemistry, good banter and the steam was hot. Overall, I loved this story and look forward to more from this series.

Add in the amazing narration by CJ Bloom and Connor Brown and this is a story that took me away from my world for a while. A sweet romance that made me smile and fan myself often enough. A great escape!

Mila and Mason’s story was so sweet (with plenty of steam). Mason was the ultimate player and I liked how Mila and Mason knew each other for a while and in fact, didn’t like each other (or did they) until they did through a series of events that made them closer (including, unbeknownst to Mila, a dating app friendship). Mila is a single mother but I have to admit that that aspect seemed very superficial (though very cute) and there were aspects of the romance that felt rushed. But overall, a solid story that was a nice escape from the world. Oh and with a fantastic narration cast that perfectly solidified the emotions in the story.

I love single dad romances, especially one with a dad like Tristan who was fantastic. I adored how the whole cast of characters were showcased, to be honest, because these are people that I would love to be friends with. Throw in Charlie, who made me tear up multiple times because her history was so sad, and I'm just loving this series and especially this story. Plenty of emotion, steam and love throughout, with a world that encapsulates acceptance and family. A wonderful story made better by the great narration. I loved Gideon Frost and Marina Barrett's narration- smooth with great nuance that heightened the emotion.

Banter galore and the characters all made me fall in love with them. The Ride or Die group of men were just fantastic, and I loved how they stood by each other. River is an attorney and some of the scenes with his assistant made me laugh. Ruby came back temporarily to help her father and was trying to escape from Magnolia Falls because of family issues. But being with River and the rest of the people in MF showed her how wonderful a small town was. Now, was it enough to get her to stay? A sweet, emotional and romantic story that was fully elevated through the audiobook. Because, Aiden Snow and Desiree Ketchum were fantastic at playing multiple characters easily so that I got lost in the audio. A wonderful next step in the series. Can't wait for the next one!

The audiobook was well done. Gregory Salinas's voice was so smooth, maybe a touch too smooth, for Marco but a pleasure to listen to and he did a great job playing multiple characters. Kasi Hollowell also did really well and I really enjoyed the book through their performance.

The story itself was ok. I'm a huge fan of Nikki Ash and always love when she has a new book and this book, for instance, I bought and was on my TBR list until I listened to the audiobook. Well, as a character driven reader, Marco drove me batty and not in a good way. Bella was a good character but took too much from her best friend turned lover. Nikki Ash does not shy away from tough subjects, including in this book, where drug addiction and survivor's guilt led to poor behaviors. But I wished redemption came earlier and I was hoping Bella would have Tapped out earlier than she did! But then, we wouldn't get the ending, which as always, was well done and sweet. Narration a 4.5, story a 3.5.
