Story
Paul’s just here to help, or so he claims—sent by a charity for vulnerable people to do odd jobs for elderly widow Gwen. But for Gwen’s daughter Connie, there’s just something about Paul that rings alarm bells from day one. He’s a little too kind, a little too involved…Worse still, Gwen seems to have fallen under his spell.

Story
On a leafy suburban street in Dublin, beautiful, poised Stella Greene lives with her successful husband, Matt. They're the perfect couple in every way, and Stella appears to have it all. Next door, at number 72, however, lives Rea Brady. Gruff, bad tempered and rarely seen besides the twitching of her net curtains, rumour has it she's lost it all...including her marbles, if you believe the neighbourhood gossip. But appearances can be deceiving, and when Stella and Rea's worlds collide they realise they have much in common.

A friend recommended this book to me, on hearing the sample I wasn't sure but thought that I'd give it a go, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish but couldn't but feel for all those poor people banged up in those institutions for not being considered "normal" and ill-treated to boot. At least places like that don't exist anymore and people with learning disabilities are treated with the respect that they deserve
