The only book on somatic practices I recommend

I am a writer and a neurodivergence activist. As part of my activities, I have been looking high and low for a book on somatic practices to recommend to neurodivergent people who are struggling with stress and/or anxiety. I am SO GLAD I found this book, as every other book I've checked out has had flaws so serious that I simply could not recommend it to my target audience. This book is clear, concise, practical, informative, and utterly devoid of triggers that could activate someone's PTSD or cPTSD. The narrator does a cracking job, too.

The best self-help podcast out there.

Unlike a lot of self-help programmes, this one is produced by people who have actually experienced the issues they speak about, are still dealing with them, and are personally and painfully aware of the fact that sometimes one-size-fits-all solutions just don't work. This is a brilliant series for anyone who is looking for ways to inform, inspire, and energize themselves on their journey towards a better life, but it's particularly useful for neurodivergent people. It's also hilarious, reassuring, moving, and very, very human. I couldn't recommend it more.

How to turn a good book into a sloppy mess

I genuinely don't understand the rationale behind this production. The original book gives us insights into Ender's mind. This rehashing relies on third-party descriptions to cover the same territory. Personally, I see that as a huge loss.

A more minor bugbear is that the voice actors for the children sound much older, which further falls to capture the essence of the story.

The backstory of an unlikeable character

A lot of the negative reviews seem to hinge on how unlikeable the protagonist is, and I don't get. That's the whole point. This is the backstory for an utterly unlikeable character in the Enderverse, so I'm really not sure what people expected.
The onky bit that bugger me was the heavy faux-Spanish accents, but that seems to be A Thing in Anglophine audiobooks.

This is an absolutely cracking book. It's not your conventional self-help book - rather, it's a personal investigation into current and past therapeutic interventions for anxiety sufferers, their potential, and their pitfalls. It's interesting, informative, clear, concise, and sprinkled with enough personal anecdotes to keep it personal. Also, I have a background in genetics, and the explanation about the real meaning of "inheritable conditions" is the best I've ever seen in a work for laypeople.

If you want a self-help book, this isn't it. If you want a book about what help is out there, however, I don't think you can do better.
