Easily digestible informational and advice presented in a very human and relatable way. Second listening highlighted tidbits I'd missed the first time. I suspect I'll refer back again for a refresher in the future.

Featuring funny, wild and poignant stories, Time After Time exploits Chris's unprecedented access to the criminal underworld to understand why the system actually makes reoffending all but inevitable for ex prisoners.

Story
The rediscovered gem following a farmer's thoughtful and moving observations of her herd and the intelligence of cows. Cows are as varied as people. They can be highly intelligent or slow to understand; vain, considerate, proud, shy or inventive. Although much of a cow's day is spent eating, they always find time for extracurricular activities such as babysitting, playing hide-and-seek, blackberry picking or fighting a tree. This is an affectionate record of a hitherto secret world.

I'm a firm believer in holistic treatment of animals and their husbandry and this lovely memoir reinforced that. Animals are so much more complex the we understand and are often much better off when we interfere as little as possible.

Story
Ove is almost certainly the grumpiest man you will ever meet. He isn't as young as he used to be. He drives a Saab. He points at people he doesn't like the look of. He is described by those around his as 'the neighbour from hell'.Every morning he makes his inspection rounds of the local streets. He moves bicycles and checks the contents of recycling bins, even though it's been years since he was fired as Chairman of the Residents' Association in a vicious 'coup d'état'.

A unique look at women and girls with autism spectrum disorder. The difference that being female makes to the diagnosis, life and experiences of a person with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has largely gone unresearched and unreported until recently. In this audiobook Sarah Hendrickx has collected both academic research and personal stories about girls and women on the autism spectrum to present a picture of their feelings, thoughts and experiences at each stage of their lives.

Narrow and lacking flow
Reviewed: 08-03-23
I was really looking forward to listening to this book as a 40 something single mum of AS children currently undergoing assessment myself. There is some useful information and some references I found useful however, overall, I was underwhelmed. The majority of the book is very narrow in focus with Aspergers traits being the main topic which I found frustrating as it is such a broad spectrum. The stop/start nature of the reading with constant insertion of references was also extremely frustrating. Surely, as with so many audio books, the references could have been organised together in an attached PDF. Some chapters felt more reference list than writing.

As a fan of Terry Pratchett for almost 40 years I was nervous of reading his story in someone else's words, I needn't have been. Rob has done a wonderful job of bring this book together and at no point did I feel anything about him or the story he was telling was insincere or contrived. I laughed, inspired to think and then cried and will definitely be listening to it again.
