Matthew Graham, the worst publisher of child abuse was an incel: a socially awkward teen who rejected all offers of help from his family. he did it to impress other men and have power. Appalling individuals like Peter Gérard Scully joined in.
As one peeedo website is taken down, these men just create more.
Real children are physically hurt, mentally destroyed, and killed. For some misfits to get their rocks off.
atp, burn it all down :(

takeaways: our dependence on being constantly occupied, never bored, may cause anxiety/depression. May.

there's a pain v pleasure balancing act

when dopamine drops below baseline, we are driven to seek reward (cravings)

a 4 week dopamine fast may reset our brain & allow us to resist constant seeking of 'likes', drugs, dopamine hits.

people with a genetic predisposition to addiction may binge even more after abstinence

an interesting listen, accessible

A history of misinformation

This covers a lot: the history of fake news (older than news), the history of opiniotainment masquerading as news.
Where & why fake science & 'flooding the zone with shit' was done.
Why Conservatives have a larger amygdala than liberals, and how that's manipulated & exploited by bad actors.
The idiocy of 'balanced' reporting.
How stories about Hillary and fake Ohio votes, to earn some cash, came out of Georgia & Russia & helped Trump win.
Tribalism, confirmation bias, cognitive dissonance and Dunning-Kruger effect explained.
Grim stuff, well worth a listen.

How to talk about contentious issues, with people who might be aggressive or unhelpful.
The soft, but difficult, skill of communicating without losing your temper. Very soothing narration, lovely voice.

lightweight romp through recent politics, easy listen. like "Chums", it shows how thoroughly corrupt the UK's media and govt are. How failure is rewarded again & again, and bad actors get away scot free while the ordinary taxpayer has to pick up the tab.

I thought I just wasn't concentrating, but I found this book in need of editing. I let it play 3 times overnight and got the gist only towards the latter half. Never heard of RK before who, BTW, said there was no evidence that he killed anyone (except for having souvenirs, a list, and a body in his trunk)

I like a swear, I swear a lot. this nook is off the scale. fk this fk that, this shit that shit, no shit, fk that shit.
it started off well, with solid neuroscience, and slid into sweary 'balance your energy', blah blah.
It also seems to have been recorded in a bathroom.
Could've been so much better. Trying too hard to capture gen Z ?
it's just bad, I'm sorry.
