There is something seriously wrong with the justice system in the US if Lou M. Taylor of Tri Star doesn't do time for her role in Britney's conservatorship. Shout out to Britney's lawyer for fighting the good fight! This is an important story, not just about the entertainment industry, but about how an innocent women in this day and age can lose all her human rights. All those who financially enriched themselves through Britney's conservatorship should be under criminal investigation. This story needs to be taken seriously. Britney's strength and bravery to speak out against all the forces who alligned themselves against her is to be commended. And Michelle Williams is an excellent narrator.

Story
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

I couldn't get past the first chapter
Reviewed: 22-12-21
In the introduction, the author/narrator goes on and on about all her qualifications and expertise. I skipped past this as the length of it was so self-indulgent and unneccesary. In the first chapter the narrator talks to the listeners as though we are all complete imbeciles. Comments along the lines of "medieval times were not shepherds dancing around in fields playing their pipes". Has anyone ever suggested that that's how they imagine medieval times to have been?? She patrionises the listener. I tried twice but couldn't get past her condescending attitude.

Story
The Great Peace is a harrowing, heartbreaking coming-of-age story set in Hollywood, in which young teenage model-turned-actor Mena Suvari lost herself to sex, drugs, and bad, often abusive relationships even as blockbuster movies made her famous. It's about growing up in the '90s, with a soundtrack ranging from The Doors to Deee-Lite, fashion from denim to Day-Glo, and a woman dealing with the lasting psychological scars of abuse, yet knowing deep inside she desires so much more from life.

Draining and hard going
Reviewed: 20-08-21
The book details Mena's life through her disfunctional relationship history. I found it exhausting and not in any way uplifting or particularly insightful. I don't want to criticise her. Maybe some people will enjoy it. I imagine it was cathartic for her to get it all out of her system by writing this book. But it's not funny, entertaining, uplifting or moving. She felt victimises by many people in her life. In turn she mistreats decent sounding people in her life, but seems to easily justify it. This didn't sit well with me.

Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it's likely the former, which is a fancy 'book' way of saying 'the first one.') I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like. I also talk about some of my adventures in Los Angeles, and surely say things about other famous people that will create a wildly awkward conversation for me at a party one day.

This sounded as though it had a computer-generated narrator. The pacing and inflection was totally unnatural and made the content unlistenable. I have to return this audiobook. Possible a good book - but awful and bizarre narration.
