It is really well written and amazingly still very relevant today (Spring 2024). Things some people find snooty (the clothes issue) I actually find fascinating. It's one example that shows that Meghan made no effort to find out and follow royal protocols. She had 18 months to do so and she's not stupid!

Miss Marple isn't quite as successfully drawn as later books but Richard Grant makes up.

Proof that dramatising a novel is dangerous!

This production was basically true to the novel, unlike some adaptations but it hit the usual problem of how to fit in all the nuances of plot and character that exist in Jane Austen's novels, in the time allowed. I gave the story 3* purely for the adaptation. The book as written by Jane Austen gets 5* every time.

I love the earlier Stephanie Plum books (up to about 13) and this is no exception. It still has the freshness and energy that tends to disappear in later books and the Stephanie/Ranger/Morelli triangle is working well. Lorelei King is also one of my favourite narrators. The problem with this recording is the fact that it is noticeably abridged. It really affects the humour and flow of the story and I would suggest reading the book first to fully enjoy it. The Audible version should be looked on as more of a back-up!

I don't know whether this series will keep going as a lot of loose ends have been tied up but I'll certainly buy the next book if so. I suspect it won't be possible to maintain the standard as I felt about the Jane Yellowrock series but I hope Faith Hunter gives it a try.

This is definitely a book I could read and listen to over again. The narrator is excellent, suits the character perfectly and manages the different voices well. Helen Harper balances the humour and the serious aspects successfully which is a difficult job in a book like this.

I came across this series by accident and never regretted it! Funny and serious together. Gareth and his sheep are a bit silly and I think she could have found a better plot device or done it slightly differently and occasionally the dialogue is out of character. However it's possible to overlook it in the overall enjoyment of the story and the brilliant narration by Tanya Eby.

I am an Ilona Andrews fan and will always try anything written by this partnership. I don't think I've yet found a book I don't like, though some series are better than others. The magic in the Hidden Legacy series is vague, rather illogical and lacks depth, unlike in the Kate Daniels world but still creates an interesting setting. I found the plot overcomplicated and the sex scenes so tedious I skipread but really enjoyed the characters, their development and the elements of humour in the book. Renee Raudman is a brilliant narrator and perfect for the Andrews series.
