Story
Ringil, the hero of the bloody slaughter at Gallows Gap, is a legend to all who don't know him and a twisted degenerate to those that do. A veteren of the wars against the lizards, he makes a living from telling credulous travellers of his exploits. Until one day he is pulled away from his life and into the depths of the Empire's slave trade. There, he will discover a secret infinitely more frightening than the trade in lives.

Slow start, but increasingly compelling

Fascinating world creation with developing characters… it was a slow start, but stick with it because something clicks in about a third of the way through and then you can’t stop listening.

Story
In 2063, Earth's overheated climate and war-ravaged cities are near breaking point. A new habitable planet is discovered within reach, but the first two missions have failed to return. This is the story of the third mission to Eden. What really awaits the crew of four as they make the long journey to this supposedly uninhabited virgin planet, and what is the link to the secret 900-year-old sect known as Alicians back on Earth? While Blake leads the Eden mission, a young researcher named Micah discovers a terrible truth that threatens the very existence of humanity.

Interesting concept

Great book to listen to, but needed more space in the recording to discern between different perspectives/sections in a chapter... needed to reposted occasionally to work out when the story had moved on to a different scene.

Story
Long ago, so the Storyteller claimed, the evil god Torak sought dominion and drove men and Gods to war. But Belgrath the Sorcerer led men to reclaim the Orb that protected the West. So long as it lay at Riva, the prophecy went, men would be safe. That was only a story, and Garion did not believe in magic dooms, even though the man without a shadow had haunted him for years.

Good, but...

Where does Pawn of Prophecy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
No where close to the heights, with some very bizarre pronounciation of 'quay' words, but still quite far from the depths. I've always enjoyed the story, and thankfully the audio hasn't ruined it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Pawn of Prophecy?
The bore
Which character – as performed by Cameron Beierle – was your favourite?
Silk

Story
Ember Hill left the dragon organization Talon to take her chances with rebel dragon Cobalt and his crew of rogues. But Ember can't forget the sacrifice made for her by the human boy who could have killed her - Garret Xavier Sebastian, a soldier of the dragon-slaying Order of St. George, the boy who saved her from a Talon assassin, knowing that by doing so he'd signed his own death warrant.

I enjoyed the story and light drama, but the tortuous English accent was distractingly painful.
