Story
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is based on the true story of Lale and Gita Sokolov, two Slovakian Jews who survived Auschwitz and eventually made their home in Australia. In that terrible place, Lale was given the job of tattooing the prisoners marked for survival - literally scratching numbers into his fellow victims' arms in indelible ink to create what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust.

Additive listening
Reviewed: 13-04-24
Such an emotional, addictive listen. I couldn’t stop the minute I started this AUDIBLE book. I worked happily all day listening along. I took in all the words spoken with great ease, and characterisation. - I could easily listen again in the near future. This intense book lead me into the time of these people suffering, where I shed tears. I absolutely recommend this book to those who appreciate what went before - and to those people who have no idea.

So she starts telling the man sitting next to her all her innermost secrets, including how she once threw a troublesome client file in the bin. She survives the flight, of course, and the next morning the famous boss of the whole mega corporation she works for is coming for a look at the UK branch. As he walks around, Emma looks up and realises it's the man from the plane.

A fabulous additive listen - to a story that is full of emotional twists and turns with a fair amount of humour which had me laughing out loud. Fabulous stuff!
The narrative is brilliantly delivered; with vocal tones of such different styles for each character were totally convincing.
I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this listen. I’m sad it is finished. I totally, and happily recommend highly to others to enjoy.
