Funny but true!

I laughed out loud so many times because the truth is funny. My big take away from this is, I do not have to behave like a man to achieve anything as that is a lowering instead of a rising up. I need to remember that! I am going to purchase her other books! A Queen!

Such a lovely series. I hope he brings it back. Botswana is now on my list of places to go to. The performance would have been 5 stars of the accents were 100% authentic. Lol

So beautiful and courageous!

It would have been 5 stars all around but for the mispronunciation of simple things like "papa" and "Adunni". The lady who voiced this, did in fact do a great job but the nuance was missing - around names, phrases and the like. Authors should read their work if there are language specific names and phrases. Saying that, it was beautiful!

Sade Hussein is the new girl at the prestigious Alfred Nobel Academy. She has no idea what to expect of her mysterious new boarding school–an institution steeped in tradition and secrets. Suddenly everyone is talking about Sade, including the Unholy Trinity: the three most popular girls at school. Swept up in their circle, Sade can't shake the sense that there's more to Elizabeth's disappearance–especially as the teachers don't seem to care.

A great story and the writing style reminds me of Ben Okri. The Narrators did their best but most of the names were mispronounced. Cultural awareness were lacking. Phrases were butchered. All these annoyed me so much it took the enjoyment out of it. The accents were Wakandan 😅 . If it had English names, it would have been incredible. It was disappointing.

I have given up on talking about people who read Nigerian stories. Saying that, as lovely as his voice is, (sound, texture etc...) I would have loved it even more if the voice actor was familiar with Nigerian phrases and colloquialisms. Not utilising the opportunity to say, "Kabiyesi" took away from it. I did love his take on Nneoma. He sounded like her and that was great! On the story, I loved this so much. It is an exciting read. A story that shows all the wonderful things that can happen when you have the right mentor. A story of the posibilities and capability. I look forward to more from this writer.
