When Mallon the Undying threatened the land years ago, the elves stopped him - and then disappeared. Now Mallon's followers seek to bring him back to finish what he started. Only the Keepers - storytellers, historians, and magic-wielders - are left to stand against them. Alaric, who betrayed everything he believed to save his wife - and still failed. Will, a storyteller who’s convinced his weak magic makes him useless. And Sini, a former slave girl with unimaginable power but no way to wield it.

As an avid reader/listen of fantasy, I start with hope in my heart, then either jump for joy or feel sorry that I started. This was great, listen/read, you will not be sorry. BTW, this is before origins. I should add that narration was so good, that I found I could distinguish the characters by voice, awesome.

Story
The dead are rising from their graves. Somewhere beneath the land of Terrassia, something stirs from its ages-old slumber. Leighandra Evenstar planned to attend the resulting summit of nations simply to chronicle the problem and the suggested solutions. Soon, however, she finds herself wrapped up with a group of young heroes intent on making solutions rather than talking about them. They are an odd assortment - humans, an elf, and one of the wolf-like luranar - and yet Leighandra finds purpose in the unity of peoples and nations.

A light yet enjoyable listen, with funky old fashioned values and then old meets new. Story followed solidly with no missed beat or leads. It ended with an ending, not left open for more books. Really enjoyed my time with this trilogy

Wounded during the hunt for a powerful necromancer, she’s packed off against her will to recuperate in the sleepy beach town of Murk – so far from the action that she worries she’ll never be able to return to it. What’s a thwarted soldier of fortune to do? Spending her hours at a struggling bookshop in the company of its foul-mouthed proprietor is the last thing Viv would have predicted. Even though it may be exactly what she needs. Still, adventure isn’t far away.

The story develops in unforeseen ways, you start in one way but ends completely unexpectedly and only after taking you on a journey with awesome characters. At fist it didn’t seem like the second book to Legends & Lattes, but it so is!

My name is Danica James. I'm a cop with the Arcane Division. Most mages have the ability to manipulate the elements - fire, water, air, earth, electricity. My magic only works on machines and electrical devices. They call me a magitek. That doesn't help much with demons and vampires, let alone criminals with lethal magikal powers.

Well developed characters, a bit confusing at times, which means it’s complex enough to make you actually listen,; no drifting off, I like that in a book
