I only downloaded, because it was free, and took a punt. Nice pace, but I almost abandoned it, as kitty started to feel like a "Bridget Jones" character, useless and no aim in life (feels harsh writing this!), but but but the character developed and I ended up nosily wanting to know more and stated hooked until the end.

Really good pace a little drawn out and unbelievable at times but I've yet to find a thriller, where the protagonist is as on-the-ball as the reader! glad I read this, and a worthy included title.

Story
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

I probably expected something more suspenseful. however the first 3 chapters were very engaging, dramatic and set the story up.
After that I felt as though the fantasy war drama would start. so left it that. I think its a cracking storyline though, just not for me.

I like the narration style and prefer female voices for female characters. The story was a little less pacy than I would like and the central character although believable, was frustrating at times....but there are people that are like that in real life, so it was good to be able to get into her head.
