the story was a little over gory imo. i didnt really enjoy the character voices - they all sounded like uneducated thugs, esp patterson. east end or east of england voices usually are a little less broad.

She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Svente vampire; a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and human-like.

for me there needed more plot and twists to balance the very raunchy sex scenes. the heroin is quite likeable but for such a strong feminist character the dithering over bedding her man just didnt fit. also the male narrator didnt quite get Sam's voice.

Even though Agatha Raisin loathes Christmas panto, her friend, Mrs Bloxby, the vicar's wife, has persuaded her to support the local am dram society in their festive offering. Stifling a yawn at the production of Babes in the Wood, Agatha watches the baker playing an ogre strut and threaten onstage until a trapdoor opens, followed by a scream and silence! Surely this wasn't the way the scene was rehearsed. When it turns out the local baker had been murdered most horribly, Agatha puts her team of detectives on the case.

I love listening to penelope Keith. The characters are like old friends now! The plots are well thought out and Agatha is frustratingly real - I frequently find myself thinking 'Nooo don't do that!' as she gets herself into yet another embarrassing scrape.

Since his wife Nancy’s death, he has tried to avoid the constant bother of nosy village women; his grasping, ambitious son; and the ever-spreading suburbanisation of the English countryside, preferring to lead a quiet life upholding the values that people have lived by for generations. But when his brother’s death sparks an unexpected friendship with Mrs Ali, the widowed village shopkeeper of Pakistani descent, the Major is drawn out of his regimented world.
