Story
N. T. Wright—widely regarded as the most influential commentator and interpreter of Paul—deftly unpacks this dense and sometimes elusive letter, detailing Paul's arguments and showing how it illuminates the Gospel from the promises to Abraham through the visions of Revelation. Wright takes a deep dive into Romans 8, showing how it illuminates so much else that God reveals in Scripture: God the Father, Christology, and the Spirit; Jesus' Messiahship, cross, resurrection, and ascension; salvation, redemption, and adoption; suffering and glory; holiness and hope.

This is pretty technical but accesible, deeply pastoral and very enlightening. Anyone who teaches or preaches needs to read it—in my case, several times. Is this Tom Wright’s best yet? Maybe.

Story
Christianity is a picture of reality. It explains why the world is the way it is. When the pieces of this puzzle are properly assembled, we see the big picture clearly. Christianity is a true story of how the world began, why the world is the way it is, what role humans play in the drama, and how all the plotlines of the story are resolved in the end. In The Story of Reality, best-selling author and host of Stand to Reason Gregory Koukl explains the five words that form the narrative backbone of the Christian story.

For so many believers the Bible is a series of short encouraging sayings that bring comfort and encouragement. Of course there is Jesus and His return, but we tedn to run out of steam after that. In The Story of Reality, Gregory Koukl lays out the big story and once we have that in place it is much easier to determine what does and doesn't fit.
New believer? This book will be a foundation for your faith and rocket fuel for your soul. If like me you have been round a bit longer, and I have been around a long time and am more well read than most, this book is still a breath of fresh air, delivering logic, context and and a beautiful depiction of the scriptural meta-narrative - he paints a wonderful picture of God, His story and our part in it.
Enjoy!

Story
Do you understand who you really are? Or how others really see you? We all know people with a stunning lack of self-awareness - but how often do we consider whether we might have the same problem? Research shows that self-awareness is the meta-skill of the 21st century - the foundation for high performance, smart choices, and lasting relationships. Unfortunately we are remarkably poor judges of ourselves and how we come across, and it's rare to get candid, objective feedback from colleagues, employees, and even friends and family.

If this book is not for you, you really need it far more than you think.
This book is not so much a quick fix, but rather preparation for a life long journey.
Tasha’s honesty and candour are so refreshing and everything shared has real life implications, as long as we take advantage of them of course.

Story
Can't anyone teach me how to pray?"" Millions of people today are asking the same question. There is a sense of the necessity of prayer - we have to pray. But how?' Prayer is central to Christian faith; indeed, as Timothy Keller notes in his introduction, it is the main way we experience deep change. Yet so many people struggle with prayer - a struggle that the author himself has shared. This wise and inspiring book is the fruit of those struggles, offering a real and glorious vision of what it can mean to seek God in prayer.

I am already a fan of Tim Keller‘s work, but this book is truly inspirational. He has struck the right balance between calling on the great writers and leaders of the past, while simultaneously delivering it for a modern audience. The church is suffering dreadfully through a drought in prayer, it is my belief that this book is part of the answer.

Unpredictable yet reliable, gentle yet powerful, authoritative yet humble, human yet divine. Respected pastor and best-selling author Tim Keller takes a deep and thought-provoking look at the life of Christ. Drawing from Mark's Gospel, he explains how Jesus' identity as king and his purpose in dying on the cross have meaning and significance on a cosmic scale as well as for the individual.

I don’t have a bad thing to say about this book, it is humble, engaging, enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable. As a Christian minister for over 30 years I found Tim’s writing re-focusing my mind on Jesus and the radical truth of the gospel. There were times when I had to stop and worship as I reflected on what was said. I thoroughly recommend this to everyone.

Story
Why does the allegiance that radical terrorists give to their false cause exceed the allegiance that most Christians today give to Jesus Christ? In Insurgence, best-selling author Frank Viola presents a radical proposal for Christians. Namely, that we have lost the explosive, earthshaking gospel of the kingdom that Jesus, Paul, and the other apostles preached. Viola argues that we've lost this dynamic, titanic, living gospel and exchanged it for a gospel of religious duty or permissiveness and "easy believism."

Frank has brought into one volume what a lot of us have been learning over the last few years. He has of course stitched it together in such a way that the aha moments grow into a clarity that could change your life.
This book is such good news, profoundly challenging without an ounce of condemnation and I suspect, something that will be used greatly in what the Lord is doing at this time. If you are, or ever have been serious about Jesus Christ, then read this book.
